the MMR system is so very flawed...

Just ask yourself this. if you are a silver player thats in silver 3 or silver two and you are constantly matched with gold players because your MMR is higher than the actual rank you are at how are you suppose to climb out of silver if your rank levels out at gold elo? you are playing with gold players while in silver, but you are not climbing because the system has leveled you off at that elo. can we just get rid of the shiny medals and go back to the old flat elo/number based system for ratings?

In other words... MMR? I mean, the rank is just a figure head, not an actual representation of skill. Who you get matched up with is based off of said number based system. Even with the "change" from elo to MMR, it feels very much like the same system I'm use to.

I got matched with against a plat the other night... I'm unranked.

Unranked is a more sensitive topic I think. The court they're thrown into is less like a focus fire, and more like walking on a seemingly sturdy wooden bridge, only to find out that both ends of it have been lit aflame, and you have no idea as to whether or not it's either jagged rocks or water beneath you.

That's a scary ass way to put it lol. But yeah that about sums it up. I don't know what that says about me or my abilities or if it's just bad luck to be matched with someone so much higher in rank.

It's a definite mixed bag, though mixed enough for me to feel like it's not worth stressing about. The best advice that I can give is that we try what we can during our unranked matches, but to keep in mind that our feet don't hit the ground until we place, which is where the real push starts.

When I originally typed this out, I thought I had something, but I'm too tired enough to make sense of it, but also too lazy to think of something that's actually cleaver.

tl;dr

Do what you can, don't stress out. All we can do is deal with the hand the game gives us.
