Question for Riot: Why favor AD?
AD is a resource that can be used by EVERY champion in the game.
Soraka ADC? Go ahead.
Syndra ADC? Okay . . . I guess?
Ch'gath ADC? I mean . . . sure . . .?
You'd probably be better off just taking
and stereotyping your way to being able to do 10K damage in like 4 seconds. But that isn't the point, AD is extremely accessible for everybody - some are just better off with it. But why in the hell are we making the most common resource for damage the most favored over magic damage?
You need 2 Magic damage for every 1 AD to be fair, right? Most spells go in between 0.4 - 0.7 AP scaling, supports have higher base stats and midlaners have . . . shitty base stats but higher scaling. This offers a climbing dynamic, but with this dynamic comes an EXTREMELY unfair item system that always benefits the AD elitists. What exactly can you do with AD though?
You can auto attack based on your attack speed Easier farming Better DPS than magic dealers Better burst than magic dealers (generally speaking, AD has less burst earlier on but more burst later on depending on the AD class. A mage can easily be outshined by an AD after only 30 minutes of gameplay . . .) Availability to lifesteal Availability to shields Availability to shields based on hp Availbility to a TON of different choices for resistances . . . Better runes. Always. Don't EVER expect this to change, because you're sadly mistaken - runes will always be better for AD. Regain mana per auto-attack crit
You don't need to wait on CDR's, because your AS amplifies your AD productivity for an increase in DPS. Essentially when you purchase attack speed, the attack damage is increased in value. Attack speed is basically an independent variable that acts like cooldown reduction, except for the fact that a mage needs to wait several moments even with high CDR for a spell to go up . . . meanwhile AD champions are able to auto attack during this time, and has an amplified damage over time effect. So basically:
Damage + Damage amplified over time - Isn't able to do next to any damage during actual cooldown abilities.
Damage + Burst + Amplified damage over time - is able to attack during "cooldown"
Also, again: this next season is very fucking obvious that AD is favored. Again. Yay. Who's excited for some more ADC's in the bottom lane, that've been there for . . . 7 years. Woo. Yay. Excited. That is the word I'm using to describe the expression of emotion that is thriving through me when I get back on to play some LoL.
AP Start: 8 AP AD Start: 6 AD
AP End: 168 AP AD End: 126 AD
? ? ? ? ?
Does nobody at Riot HQ see a problem here? Anybody? Why in the hell does AD get like 75% of what AP's get when AP's are required to actually use abilities? AD's don't even need to use abilities to do 10K Damage at the end of the game in like . . . 5 seconds. An Ahri can probably do 3K Damage in a full combo. Maybe. Probably.
There's another rune that lets you stack endlessly AD . . . why aren't AP users given the same thing? Are you afraid of them bursting down the AD's that only bought offensive items . . .?
Welp, I've gotta go. Just a question to ask though: Lucian, does his passive stack the endlessly stacking rune?
