Can we address Irelia's "I don't want to lose" button?

That little stun of hers.... If she decides she doesn't want to lose a fight, she just stuns you for up 2 seconds. Too bad she has tenacity, so you won't be able to do the same......

I'm okay with her having a stun, but it could be harder to land. Like 10-15% hp gap, not equal or less than.

The only form of defense she has is her tenacity and she needs at least 3 champions to be around for it to have full effect and don't forget that it doesn't work on knockups, knockbacks, or suppressions either. She doesn't have damage reduction, boosted resists, bonus health, a shield, etc. like most other fighters do so her stun is really her only way to win fights and protect herself.

Don't forget that it's a conditional stun as well so if she doesn't use it at the right time it will be a slow instead. She is a dive fighter and if you take away her stun then she can't really function as anything anymore so that's why she has it.

alast Irelia does not have a armor/MR, shield or % damage reduction so that stun is her defencive ability.

It is not guarantied to be a stun where as otehr champs like Maokai get a 2 second reliable root on top of 20% damage reduction.

I am assuming it is the factor of you think you are winning a trade in top and then you get stunned and lose that is making you frustrated. You often times do not have to trade and that is something that might sound hard to do but often in your best interest. Unless you are already at a huge disadvantage and the enemy can dive you without worrying.

Riot has said they plan to rework Irelia since as long as I have been playing but clearly she is not that big of a problem considering some champs who came out after he already got a rework.

Nerf Fiora and Irelia appears as your target of frustration. Nerf Irelia and divers in general and you suddenly have all tanks being played top. The cycle continues.

Very few champions have flat damage reduction. Otherwise, she's fully capable of building armor / mr like any other character. Also having some of the highest passive sustain in the game generally beats out the need to be tanky in the first place, as she'll play a battle of attrition before all-ining her opponent. I'm sure you main Irelia and already know this, though.

The stun isn't guaranteed? A good Irelia knows when to use Equilibrium Strike. She's rewarded with a long duration CC for losing a fight. That's inherently broken by design. Imagine if they made an ADC that when they hit critical health, they had a flash-range dash that threw them backwards.

2 seconds? I thought it was 2 full moons

so many people have stuns who cares about irelias?

sure, it's not a ranged skillshot, but hers requires you to be in your face, unlike xerath or elise who can just spit it at a distance

Irelia also has easy farm, and true damage, plus sustain. If it was just a slow that scaled with the health differences it'd be fine.

I have to agree with many people here in saying I don't see her stun to be an issue. I mean Renekton has a stun that is still point and click and even less contingent on being used correctly (as it stuns no matter what). What about Annie's ability to point and click from range to stun you for ten hours and run away? Or Pantheon or any number of champions whose stuns are even more bs than Irelia.

I wish there was some other mechanic that could make crude usage of it, detrimental to the player. Right now, the only thing gating you from using it is mana and cooldown.

Just pick renekton and you wont have to worry about Irelia..

She's getting reworked. There. Addressed.

I haven't heard about her getting reworked at all. I think she's in a fine state, and if they said she is going to be reworked (I highly doubt it), then it's many years down the line because 1) she's in good shape, and 2) there are so many more champions that need work than she does.
