Why should I pick Kog'Maw or Twitch over Jinx?

I'm starting to feel like both of them just can't compare to her. They both have severely worse early games, Kog'Maw is a lot worse than both of them come mid game, and Jinx is overall a lot safer in terms of teamfights and risk-reward. Jinx has a similar range steroid, but it has no downtime whatsoever -- most AD Kog builds (assuming no CDR) have 9 seconds where theirs is down and Kog'Maw only has 10 more range than her, and Twitch only has his for 7 seconds and it's his ultimate. Not to mention hers hits in an AoE circle as opposed to Twitch's straight line and Kog'Maw's needing a Runaan's for a similar effect. Another huge advantage she's got over the two of them is more reliable escapes and disengage, especially if she scores a kill or an assist, where she suddenly turbo-charges to get multi-kills or gets out of dodge if it's going bad.

Jinx also has a higher attack speed steroid than both of them, and with no downtime to it as compared to Twitch. Twitch's is attached to his stealth, which, while it makes him absolutely astounding at flanks and surprise attacks, also leaves him incredibly vulnerable if he gets caught or it's on cooldown. She's got better slows than both of them on a MUCH lower cooldown, she has hard CC which neither of them have, arguably better scaling on her abilities, and roughly something the same as Twitch gets on his ultimate on her Fishbones, which is a normal ability. I could say that Kog'Maw melts you a lot faster if you're a tank, but I don't recall item 3153 being a bad item on Jinx, not to mention she's got pretty devastating crits.

The only reason I'd see Kog'Maw being a better choice right now is because he's still got much better poke and siege come late game, but Jinx certainly isn't bad at it either with her range buff. Twitch is my favorite ADC right up with Draven but honestly, laning with him is so miserable that it's incredibly discouraging to pick him up again.

So I'm going to come to the forums and ask, why should I play either of these two over Jinx, and why I shouldn't buy her instead of a champion I'm more inclined to enjoy with the IP I've been building up just so I have a strong ADC for ranked play?

He's at least 10 times cuter than Jinx.

Kog Maw eat tanks in the tank heavy meta of today

Koggles is an adorable void puppy. Koggles eats tanks and everything else. Lulu loves Koggles.

Kog's high mixed damage, high bases, poke, armor shred and synergy with bruiser items (BoRK and Trinity Force) gives him a smoother power curve (doesn't actually need to first buy BF sword, but can get incrementally stronger), decent mid-game, tankiness and kiting potential. A good Kog is actually pretty damn hard to lock down and catch since if you fail to actually kill him instantly, he can kite pretty easily with Phage procs and his slow.

I mean, shit, Kog doesn't even actually need IE if he's too poor and behind.

KogMaw item 3153 item 3078 item 3006item 3087 item 3035 item 3026 is already HUGE damage and none of it requires more than buying a pickaxe at once, which is great if you are behind and can't afford to save up for a BF sword.

Meanwhile, Jinx requires a VERY expensive build that requires farming of multiple BF swords.

Maybe I've just not played him for too long then, haven't had the best games lately and I feel like a lot of the supports I've gotten stuck with have no clue how to play with a Kog

guess practice makes perfect, I'll try that build though

Graves is a real man who doesn't need a babysitter. Jinx can snowball hard enough to make up for the lack of peel. Koggles needs a team comp built around him, or at the very least people who understand how to play with him around.

You don't need a Lulu on your team, but it's a lot safer if you do.

Kog is quite good at kiting and has a high base damage but he has a bad all in, unlike Jinx who has an amazing all in. His advantages are in itemization and mid/late game when he has at least Triforce and BoRK, not in early game which is when alot of bot lanes get decided.

I mean, shit, once you get Triforce and BoRK, it doesnt even matter what you get at that point. Hell I've seen Zhonyas Kog before against teams with Rengar or Zed because he actually scales off AP, needs armor and its better than a GA.

Kog'Maw might be coming back into favor in the tank meta because kog abosoultely eats through tanks. This is important because the first step of every teamfight is generally to kill the tank or bruiser that is coming at you. Once you can do that, you can contribute to the rest of the teamfight. Kog's lane phase is pretty bad until 6 where he can poke people out, but kog is a hyper carry late game.

Jinx will "deal" more damage because fishbones is aoe but the damage doesn't matter if she can't kill the tank, which can be difficult if you aren't ahead. additionally if you ditch a defensive item for bork then you are vulnerable to anyone to kill you pretty easily. Fishbones also attack considerably slower than any other adc with the same items. ( she has like the 4th lowest attack speed of all adcs with fishbones or something).

Twitch is just a different play style of champion in my opinion. he can win game with his ult or he can do nothing with it. We've seen how twitch can be played to extreamly efficient means from him being in flavor quite a few times over the season and probably most prominenty in the world finals. He has the ability to assassinate champions that other adcs don't have and has some pretty cool utility with his cloak.

In my opinion you play any of these champs whenever you want. they all have different pros and cons, it's just a matter of which cons and pros you want to deal with in a particular game.

kog is fine twitch could use a little tap but in all fairness kog is the better adc vs a jinx in terms of l8 game damage

Honestly, right now, I dont think there is a good reason to. I think Jinx is easily the strongest ADC in the game currently.

That being said, she's pick/pan status for me currently, so other people might also think that way.

i'm probably just circlejerking hard but i feel like I'd be winning a lot more and a lot sooner if I went jinx over the two of them, and I'd probably be more contributing with less peel, and still get to have a holy bejesus late game

but I have more fun playing Twitch/Kog so I guess I'll just play them and hope for the best

I do prefer playing Kog over Jinx, but I'm just more familiar with him. What I wouldn't give to have an MS boost on him after every kill or assist or tower destroy...

i haven't played him in months and I recently picked him back up

it feels a lot harder to play him tbh
