Riot needs to come clean and clarify why they're killing their own game

The players that have funded Riot's entire endeavour deserve respect. We deserve to know when not to waste any more time providing feedback to a company that doesn't listen to us.

So I'm asking you, Riot: Why are you continuously making poor decisions and deliberately making the game unfun to play?

Sorry you're not enjoying the game anymore [sg-soraka]

Any particular reason? What poor decisions are hurting it, just for clarification? I'm enjoying it just as much as I was in S1. I don't think the game (personally) has had "bad" seasons like others (omg S4 was awful; League of Tanks; omg Devourer is broke; OMG rune system sucks bring back choices; Thunderlords OP; ADC's one shot; "League of Assassins"; Support is too weak/Support is too strong; Too much vision; Lee Sin too Mobile).... although I'd certainly say there were points that I didn't like - **Devourer **for example (Never been a huge fan of infinite scaling items, or forced options).

I've played every meta, every season. I've also seen that Riot, no matter what they do, always displeases people. "Games are too long!" (Riot pushes for shorter games, which game time has steadily decreased) "Games are too fast/Decided too quickly!".

Someone or group is always going to be displeased. From their perspective, I feel like the community really divides their opinions and they get constantly shafted by the vocal community pushing it one way and the "actual" player base pushing it another, and having constant contradicting messages from their players. I honestly feel really bad for them because no matter what they decide to do, what change to make, what direction to push, who to nerf and gut, who to rework and buff, what items to balance/create,_ Riot always loses_ because someone or a group is unhappy.

Riot's mistake was changing their existing game to such a dramatic degree.

When what they really should've done was create a new dedicated team to support a new development branch for the game. Same map layout (maybe a different design to easily identify them) and visibly the same champions and skins (to cut down on art costs), but place no other restrictions on the new development team. If they wanted they could do/forgo a champion rework, completely different itemization design (mages might still have mp5 and spell vamp), have different runes/masteries exc.

Riot's mistake was shifting their game design too much to appeal to an overly broad breadth of players that vital subsets of the community now have mutually exclusive or antithetical ideas of how they want the game's design to change. Riot would've been better off actually splitting the community back around season 3, rather than tearing down their old game as scrap to build their new one.

Can you specify how Riot is "killing their own game". I haven't had issues with Riot's descisions. Heck, I didn't care one bit about old dark harvest Graves . So please specify!

You've got it backwards. Riot: HoLy ShIt BoIs! We GotTa RaKe In ThE nOrMiEs!!! Fortnite: exists (As game fundamentally better designed for casuals) Riot: WhErE dId AlL oF oUr NoRmIeS gO?!?!?!?!

Rito didn't kick it into full gear until Fortnut came out. When Overdong showed up nothing much happened outside of increased marketing, and even then it was piss poor. Even now Rito's outreach to its content creators is laughable. Whereas all of these "competitors" are doing a much better job of reaching out to their communities and content creators.

Yes, but riot had already been making moves before fortnite. And fortnite's broad appeal to casual players is in part due to the BR format, which riot just fundamentally can't replicate in their game

EDIT: Nvm.

The person that asks for specify gets down voted above me... Yikes. League forums is like the witch-hunters of Reddit.

He just wanted to understand what personally the player did not like. And asked in a very objective clarifying way. I feel as if were starting honest discussions that clarity is important. That's the equivalent of the safe space mentality of colleges where you have to be mindful of your free speech so someone doesn't get offended. "If I don't hear it - it doesn't exist!" "But if you think about it, the r-" "LA LA LA LA, CAN'T HEAR YOU" "I'm just trying to point to statistics th-" "LA LA LA LA"

We're better than that guys, C'mon now. Edit: Let's also not do it to the poster... All groups should be heard.

You aren’t the only person playing this game.

Why are your wants any more important than someone else’s? What superiority do you have over them?

Same to all the people who got riot to change to appeal to their preferences which are evidently not working for the game.

Riot doesnt own you jack shit the same way no other company does. You didnt pay for league, you werent forced to play it either. Obviously, league of legends is declining in the west but its gaining huge popularity in the east. China alone makes up for 58% of all league players. No wonder Riot prioritizes to cater it to China and Koreas audience more than Americas since they're the very clear majority.
