Since people realized how OP he is

Since alot of the bugs that made him suck have been fixed, he is finally playable. And he has been strong for quite some time, just he was weighed down by a ton of bugs / glitches.

Since Riot released the best lane bully in the game while stating left and right that they don't want lane bullies to exist.

Without the multiple bugs he had, most of the times related to his damage output, or to escape, he is pretty OP. He has burst, dps, mobility, and that BS ultimate

Use minimal mana to summon a soldier and do insane damage with them, more cdr = soldiers are like machine guns. Free turret on your passive too. Can dash close or away, which can also give him a sheild. Ult for protection or lockdown. Hes pretty much a super safe, high damage mage with good poke and teamfight potential.

the fact his minnions do all the work and their immortal... if he gets chased he can jump go through the jung walls no problem

Yeah, the bugs were his biggest problem. The only AP champion more broken than Azir, right now, is Cass.
