Top Lane Viktor A Sign of Larger Issues

So, seeing as how PBE is already showing Riot's distaste for top Lane Viktor (if you haven't looked, his base AP stats on his Q and ult are going way down, but his scaling AP is going up - meaning building iceborne loses a lot of potential AP damage), I think Riot is still neglecting a popular issue. That issue being melee champs like Irelia, Garen, Aatrox, and mixed damage/range like Urgot are champs that thrive top Lane. So much so that people are having to search for odd strategies in order to match those picks.

I think Riot is shutting down Viktor because of its success against these champs - which is fine - but I think this points to their power levels as also being too high.

If you're going to nerf top Viktor, please address the power of the champions that made top Viktor so significant. Irelia's 3 base movement speed nerf last patch did nothing - it's her Kit's strength and having no weak point throughout the game that makes her insane, for instance. If Viktor top is getting nerfed, why is mid Irelia still so prevalent in solo queue?

Tl;Dr: nerf Viktor, that's cool (I used to main him mid so I'd gladly love for him to be mid-viable again, personally), but PLEASE address the issue that made players bring him to the top in the first place. You know it's a problem when there are champions that are perma-banned at all ELO levels.
