Tell me how I use Challenging Smite on an enemy 2 seconds before he dies and I don't get an Assist. No. Don't tell me how. I don't care to hear people justify the bullshit this game has become. I just want it back to the way it was: actually receiving credit for being a part of team fights.
Nut on my Butt1 votesBecause challenging smite doesn't deal dmg or CC, it's always been like that. You can use it on someone who's inting into tower and they'll still only get executed.

Challenging smite without auto literally contributes nothing tho
Glamorous Rammus1 votesWrong. Just being present drastically affects the gameplay of opposing players. Are you walking near an enemy tower with a Blitzcrank standing there? No. And if that Blitzcrank moves you're going to adjust your position to avoid his grab. And if by doing so- you move away from Blitz right into an enemy ambush it's because Blitzcrank made it happen. Even if he doesn't manage to get in a hit he made a play. And sometimes making a play means not doing anything because if Blitz used his grab at all you would feel safe enough to engage- meaning he couldn't set up the play that got you ambushed because his abilities are on cooldown and you would take advantage.
Nut on my Butt2 votesIf you want people to get assists for simply applying pressure or being nearby, but not directly effecting the fight, then the value of assists would end up decreasing.
