Please give an example of a really good Nocturne build.

I've been going item 1400 >item 3142 >item 3158 >item 3074 >item 3022 >item 3153

it's a pretty good build, except it's jack shit useless until frozen mallet because you get blown up.

Please give an example of a nocturne build that will be good throughout midgame and also be somewhat tanky with a good amount of attack speed.

nocturne mains and frequent flyers, gimme the build you have the most success with.

my favorite build, especially when my teammates use it in ranked: item 3070 item 3070 item 3070 item 3070 item 3070 item 3070

item 1419 > item 3153 >item 3111/item 3006 > item 3143 > item 3142 > Situational

A little unconventional, but it is probably worth trying.

item 3006 item 3077 item 1413 item 3748 item 3742 item 3156

It keeps decent burst damage (Titanic Hydra's active, Deadman's Plate's passive, Maw of Malmortius) while making Nocturne rather durable. The main problem is that it lacks CDR, but you can use your runes to help make up for that.

Jungle item can be replaced with Warrior and/or Stalker's Blade if you prefer.

Why would you get item 3077 and item 3748 ? I don't think they stack cleave / crescent because of the unique passives....

That's how I short-hand the build order.

Basically, it means:

  1. Purchase Tiamat
  2. Purchase Cinderhulk
  3. Build Tiamat into Titanic Hydra.

Honestly, I never thought I would have as many issues explaining this to people as I have in the past. I thought it would be pretty obvious that:

  • When multiple boots are listed, you should purchase one of those options.
  • When a component item is listed, it is meant to be upgraded into a later item which builds out of it.

What do you get as the 6th item?

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

It depends on the situation (i.e. team composition, who is fed, what do I need to do).

Good options include (but aren't limited to): item 3026 item 3143 item 3022 item 3071 item 3046

Keep in mind that I only occasionally play Nocturne. This is largely based on builds that I've tried or seen work in the past with some theory-crafting.

Ap nocturne op

It's situational really, there's nothing else to say. Your build is fine as well. Nocturne is like every sinfgle assassin/melee adc/AD Diver so get some damage, AS and 1 or 2 tanky items.

When I play Nocturne which I do quite often since he's my 2nd main after Kindred I go item 1419 item 3153 item 3071 item 3142 item 3143 or item 3102 or item 3026 and situational boots on top of it item 3047 item 3111 , sometimes even item 3006 if you are really really ahead.

Basically the same as master YI with quite a few differences.

Told you but as I said, you can take whatever AD+AS build on Nocturne and you can find out what works the best for you. :)

What runes and masteries are you using?

Flat AD marks, 5 cooldown blues 4 scaling mr blues. flat armor yellows and attack speed quints.

The build your using has some contradictions. Frozen Mallet and BORK are for chasing down your opponents and they both serve the same purpose. The slow from BORK will last long enough for you to kill whoever you're wanting to. If it takes you longer, they either flashed or you're already dead. BORK is also a "chase you down" thing, but Warrior / GB / Hydra all say one-shot. If your purpose is to one-shot, do not build Mallet and BORK. Instead, try these:

item 3147 item 3812 item 3156 item 3033 item 3078

All of these items serve the one-shot build better than your current build.

What are your masteries?

Exchange AD for armor penetration, the scaling MR for scaling CDR. You don't want AD, since a majority of your ganks are post-6 and arpen does better damage as the game goes on (post-6). The same goes for CDR, since you want to be aggro. Having a level advantage means you have more health / resists than your opponent, and if this is true, the CDR is more important.

Not a Noc main, but here is what I usually build:

item 1400/item 1412 item 3077 item 3087 item 3074/item 3748 item 3053 Tank item.

Noc can go squishy early game and focus on damage to snowball, focus on being tanky after mid game is about to end so you can still do your job in team fights.

Between item 3053 and you shield, you can take some punishment without major problems. Choosing between Ravenous and Titanic is up to your personal style. I enjoy Ravenous more, as the life steal is usually stronger than the extra health. Specially during the early/mid game, in which you will be taking damage from monsters constantly.
