So I made friends with a former Korea masters player. And went duo with him on a smurf to learn
The matches with him were quite educational. Here are some wisdom from him.

Positioning within the map is a big aspect in the game which determines everything. And disregarding it is the only way you can die in this game.
-
Generally within silvers to gold, sneaking a baron never happens. Baron is actually quite squishy than most players think. If your adc and jungler is at top, and some enemy shmuck has showed his face at bot without tp. You can pretty much yolo it. ....if its not warded.
-
Don't touch the dragon pre-6 or elder without straight out advantages of numbers at your side. It's a nuclear noob trap. PIng the jungler off. If he stubbornly stays. leave him where he is at his current elo.
-
Support is generally the most easiest role.
The ADC needs to put his CS capability, positioning, attack calculations and mechanics at a more higher effort than any role. In his opinion, most of the time the ADC dies because the support is simply not at the same level as him. Or in some serious cases, can't even imagine what the ADC is capable of, since said sup never mained ADC. (Generally the opposite mentality of the lol boards somehow.) -
Fighters and tanks are generally brainless, in silver-mid gold. If all of the frontline goes all-in front, it would be a dice roll which side will win. Dont abandon the carries. peel. If you do this, you deserve a gold medal, literally.

Ward the crossroads of jungles. Your general mid-elo support will probably just ward the bushes within the map. Although it is good to prevent ambushes, simply warding the open road gives more vision than some dank corner of the map. With just 5 wards, shared with 2 people, we lit up the whole jungle of the enemy.

Some people are just too kind. Personality affects how people act when they group. He claims its sad that people kind people die trying to defend the mistake the single retard made. Just leave him. Sometimes cold mercy is a bliss. This happens a lot in mid-tiers, and creates a chain reaction which is called "throwing". (He made a hillarious comparison to a massive car accident)
Comes to mind, who if your good with, can solo at lvl 3, but even if you aren't good, you can solo at lvl 5 with the right items
