It was actually a good time. We rarely had mage "support" bs like 
because they will provide little past laning phase. Supports actually focused on protecting team and warding instead of "I wanna do the most damage" like we have today.

Hethalean1 votesI'm not sure what you're talking about Malzahar and Brand not providing much after a laning phase. Malzahar is pretty much picked for his ultimate to use in Team Fights, and Brand can just finish a team fight as it starts. Sounds like 'post laning' contribution to me.

Without gold their damage will be low since they won't have liandrys.
