Is Ranked Worth It?
So I've been trying ranked for the past couple months. I went through placements and got Bronze 1. To be honest, I was actually kind of proud/excited because I'm new-ish to this game and I didn't get Bronze 5. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
Welp, that was a couple months ago. And after a Jhin in one of my latest string of losses complemented me on my gameplay... he also made sure to point out I have a 13% win rate (maybe less now). It really made me think over things.

I'm Bronze 4 now. I'm depressed. I can't win anything. I play against much higher ranked people in normals and am about at a 50% win rate there. All I wanted to do was make it to Silver 5 before the end of the season, but I have given up now. I know you're supposed to always look at yourself and assume you are the problem causing the losses, but I sincerely play my heart out in ranked and... well, 13% win rate just feels like there is someone laughing at me and trying to make me lose. I rarely feed. I don't flame. I've tried going to other positions to see if I can carry there but it just seems hopeless. Sure, sometimes my losses are just because the other team simply played better. But it feels more and more like everything is out of my control.
Yes, I've heard the whole "the common denominator to your losses is YOU" bit of advice, but am I really expected to carry 100% of the time? That feels unrealistic and quite impossible. I don't understand. I can't be that terrible. And even if I am terrible, is there not even a chance to get carried just once? I give my best every time. I'm the only person on my team half the time who buys ward upgrades and uses them. I've practiced my cs-ing like crazy and I average about 90 by the 12-minute mark. I've sought advice from higher ranked players and have corrected some of my habits and builds.
What I was hoping to get out of ranked was a better gauge of my progress (and get that silver border eventually).

But I haven't really gotten anything from ranked except a feeling of helplessness. My friend told me I should wait until the new season, de-tilt, and get a fresh start. But is it worth it? Is there any chance I can see improvement? I enjoy League and normals is still a blast, but I have a bit of a competitive personality and sometimes norms just feels casual and I wonder if I'm going anywhere or just stagnating.
