I think most people dislike support because its boring as fuck, but maybe if other supports were able to do everything without weakness they would get a 30% playrate permanently too!

Thresh doesn't do everything Thresh has weaknesses aka long cooldown+long cast times+squishier than any melee tank support, and less range than any ranged support
No more freaking hooks
Make Blitzcrank be able to hook allies. Boom

No one does everything without weakness, but I think I know what you mean . Riot said that this year we get a supp champ. Hope for best
I do understand what you mean, Thresh has a lot of versatility, and even though it's not guaranteed (for example, there seem to be a lot of match ups where he can't play aggressive), it's certainly enjoyable.
But there are other, arguably better, 'versatile' champions (Sona and Nami for me, in my low elo at least) that I feel adapt better than Thresh. - I would say that what Thresh has is creative potential for those who play him, as well as a rocking awesome theme. And yes, we definitely need more of that!

You're 2 seasons too late, the support meta swings between the fotm mage that has been turned into a support because lol balance what is it? and meddlers never ending quest to have all 5 lanes played by supports healing and shielding each other till one side afks.
I'd rather have more brand-like supports.
