the damage scaling in this game is getting out of hand.

like i dont understand the reasoning of releasing and reworking so many champions that dont just do true damage, but MAX HEALTH true damage... or execution true damage... on top of this you guys nerf a ton of core defensive items. why? i mean i know tanks were getting out of hand, but THIS is your answer in solving that? i truly do not understand.

Fiora is capable of dealing 60%+ MAX HEALTH true damage to a target... how the hell am i suppose to build against that? armor? useless, frozen heart nerfed and its true damage anyway. so 100% of that armor is ignored. build HP? again, worthless. building HP will only make her true damage STRONGER. so the only real option is to burst her down before she can get to you, which i guess is simple enough untill you get to someone like Garen. you cant simply burst his dude down before he gets to you and ccing him is not that effective either. your only option is to run away and PRAY that your team can peel him off you before he can ult you. you cant build effective defense against him either because he also deals BOTH max health true damage AND missing health true damage. its complete bull shit.

and it doesnt end there. u are planning on adding MORE true damage to chams like Syndra in the future

then there are champs that dont do true damage, but there damage is so fucking high that it doesnt matter such as Mordekaiser Ekko Yasuo Zed

how do you expect us to play against this?

%max hp true damage is far past fcked. instead of tanks countering damage you now have DAMAGE countering damage. its like a game of rock paper scissors where scissors beats everything so fck it just build straight damage and go ham decisions are no longer necessary Tryndamere summoner 14 item 1038 item 1038 item 1038 item 1038 item 1038 item 1038

This is the exact description of the situation we are facing in League of legends.

There's almost no way to handle the damage stacking of some champions... Because of that, the game gets a lot more retardfriendly and dumb.

True damage is ok, but it should only exist in small amounts AhriIrelia

I think true damage is okay as long as it is barred behind some sort of barrier. Like your examples Ahri and Irelia, their True Damage comes from the use of an ability and once that ability is over, the true damage is over.

Fiora and Garen, I am also okay with, since Fiora requires positioning, and repositioning between an entire enemy team, for it to be effective in team fights. Garen only gets one person to target at a time with his.

Vaynes true damage I am not okay with (Mainly because of the base damage), but because the only barrier that limits hers is attacking three times in a row... on a marksman who is already going to auto anyways. I also don't like Cho-Gaths frickin stupid click and point losehalfyourhealthbecausehe hitasingle button... -Cough- Yeah.

That's in melee range. :/ It might as well be a super duper empowered autoattack. The damage is nigh bullshit, though. Thank god it ain't spammable like Darius's ult in the right circumstances.

But yeah, I like your post. My biggest issue with Vayne is the flat true damage on her W, as opposed to the scaling. Anti-tank assassin? I can deal with that. Anti-tank anti-squishy assassin? The line, it is drawn.

ModAcademy Kayn2 votes

Yeah, the flat damage is dumb and shouldn't exist. I've seen the math on how it hurts squishies more than tanks. What do Vayne's max first anyways, btw?

IcyPepper1 votes

Most Vaynes, if I recall correctly, put about three points into their W (one point alone doesn't do much, but three is enough to make it relevant when rushing BORK instead of IE for your autos) then max their Q for the cooldown, aa steroid, and mobility. Then W.

I agree.

There's always a place for burst mages, but dang it damage should come at some price lol

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

Like immobility? Being squishy? Being reliant on cds? None of those come to mind?

Yes, because those are the prime example of a burst mage. Bravo.

Ahri

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

She's squishy, her main form of mobility (Dashes) are locked behind her ult, with a average cd time. If she misses her charm, she's vulnerable to attacks for a while.

Oh, and another thing, Ahri is not a burst mage, not until late game, where most mages have the ability to insta-shank someone. Early game, Ahri relies on poking you down, until you are at a point where she can kill you. That is not a burst mage.

Because she does not have early game burst, she is allowed to have some forms of mobility. If you are looking for true examples of burst mages, look at Malzahar Annie Brand. These champs can burst you down 100-0, without any mobility (Save a flash)

Trash ADC Btw2 votes

Malz is a prime example of a DPS mage, not a burst mage.

you are right about annie and brand, however, the CD Reliance of Ahri squarely places her on the 'burst' end of the 'burst vs dps' spectrum.

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

Admittedly, Mal stands in an awkward place. He isn't burst, but he does nuke people, granted it takes 2.5 seconds to do so, when he reaches level 6. I wouldn't consider that DPS, since he normally nukes a single person, and hopes his pool and Q did damage in other places.

In terms of Ahri, I say that she is a poke mage early game, transforming into a burst mage late game. So, technically, yeah, but most mages can burst late game anyways.

Trash ADC Btw2 votes

Well no, there's a difference between high DPS and actual burst. Burst, for instance, is easier to mitigate if you're a tank main, like myself.

DPS can be single target or AoE, so I would say Malz is a single target DPS mage, with ridiculously high DPS, whereas Swain would be an area saturating DPS mage with consistent High DPS, like Malz.

Ahri would be a multi-target burst mage, whereas someone like, say... Cass, would be a high burst Single Target at a time mage.

All mages are poke mages to an extent, barring assassins, but that has very little to do with whether or not they're a burst combo mage or a sustained DPS mage. At least that's from what I can tell about the role of APC as a Swain/Heimer player.

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

I really still wouldn't call Malzahar a DPS Mage. True DPS mages are people who are constantly doing a consistent amount of damage in a fight, like Cass, Swain, or Ryze. I made a graph to visualize what I'm thinking.

https://gyazo.com/76f8eae7a5dcc32f0019551cc1ae77a9

DPS mages have a constant doing of damage through of fight. Burst mages have spikes of damage that go up and down when Cd's refresh.

https://gyazo.com/ea7e874fd7eb8ff16b09da6697c5eeb0

Mal fits more with the second graph, because he can Nuke someone for high damage, but once he's killed them (Or he his killed) his damage drops until his Cd's refresh. He can't keep up a solid constant supply of damage like Cass, Swain, Heimer, or Ryze.

Trash ADC Btw1 votes

I would say there's a spectrum there, between high burst and high DPS. Malz is close to the middle, but has the tools to function as DPS effectively.

I am slowly but surely ceasing to play this as much as of late, and soon I'll probably stop altogether. These buffs, these nerfs, theyre really just getting out of hand. Buffing champs that are already incredibly strong, nerfing champs that are already so far out of the meta, theyre using Rally. This game has just become a cesspool of (mostly) unjustified Buff/Nerf patches every 2 weeks

%hp True damage itself is cancer, because penetration is already strong

I've build 300 armor and 4.5k hp on a naught before, and driven shreded me a new one without a second glance, 7 AAs and I was dead (which happened in under 3 seconds), that's with my shield and support shield brining me to about 5.5k hp, it's stupid how much damage can be done to a tank yet juggarnot like garden gets 30% damage reduction abilities that make them tank it like its K

Penetration and building as a tank need to be looked into

I understand bruisers need to be tanky, but when I can't survive long enough to even CC properly, something is out of hand

Upon the release of her rework, Fiora was (and still is) capable of dealing 100% maximum health true damage with her ultimate after stacking enough AD, and she was still heavily underpowered to the point of needing a hotfix. Even something as seemingly broken as maximum health true damage can be made manageable given the right tuning.

stand next to a wall

funny thing is standing by a wall only b locks one of her vitals, two if you are next to a big enough wall. this leaves 3-4 vitals open. she only needs to hit 3 to kill you with true damage alone...

funniest part of all this is that she doesnt need her passive/ult to kill someone period because she still has a crit steroid and insane damage from her items regardless of the true damage.
