Why do people run Flash at all?
Is it really that good? I feel like there are a lot of champions that don't rely on instant positioning and could benefit much more from TP/Ignite/Exhaust/Ghost combos
Flash sucks and is the biggest meme

Gives a lot of different options compared to the others. Gives escapes over walls and away from enemies, especially to champions who have no escapes. Can be a huge surprise factor in a fight.
Because it provides the ability to make multiple plays that VERY few other summoner spells do (teleport does and...that's basically it).
this is only true at diamond level and above. below that flash is used mostly as a get out of bad situation cuz i was retarded card. take flash away and so many people will fall in rank cuz they cant get away when they make stupid decisions.
Try to do a 5-man ult as Galio with ghost.

actually, i see far more agressive flashes in lower elos than in high elo, high elo is overall a more save playstyle, and they mostly use flash to deny plays rather than do some.... I think the game would be more interesting without a flash to cover up mistakes, but a few champs really would need some buffs then(gallio without flash ult sucks quite a bit)...maybe add a version of mark/dash instead, thats a pure playmakeing summoner.
If you don't like flash then you don't have to use it. I run barrier on draven instead of heal shrugs if someone rages at you for not taking flash. mute em :D
I run barrier on draven instead of heal
The reason adc's tend to run heal over barrier is... their support >.> Just saying, barrier is a bit selfish for a duo lane.

If my ADC takes Barrier I'm taking Heal 100% of the time. Doesn't matter to me- most of the time they wait for the enemy to blow Ignite before using Heal, anyway...
Flash is a good mobility spell that allows you to jump over walls. It can also creates a gap so that you can run away more easily, or remove the gap so you can chase better.
Flash is insanly strong, simply by the fact that it's instand and reaktive while beeing usefull for both offens and defense. With ghost and TP, you have to plan when to use it as they don't offer immediate impcact, ignite doesn't have any defensive usecases, exhaust isn't that powerfull as a defensive tool vs ganks. Flash has simply the power to save your ass in nearly any sitation, while still offering playmakeing potential while beeing rather simple and intuitive to use compared to ghost, cleanse, exaust or TP
Learn to dodge spells and watch the map and you dont need flash. Understand your champion and the situation and you wont need flash for offence. Exhaust isnt as good in a gank? Obviously it depends who you are but it can give you enough time to kill one person or for a turret dive if someone is taking aggro for someone you exhaust the person doing damage and you have much better chances since generally if you flash away they are just going to flash after you. I Never use flash and I haven't got demoted a single time since.
O.o
Ignite, Ghost, and TP never got me instantly over a wall to ulti in a team fight that I would have otherwise been late to due to having to jog my butt around a wall. Ignite, Ghost, and TP never got me out of turret fire after I made that early dive bot lane for a double. Sure there are times where something else "might" be more useful. But questioning if it is "really that good" I would have to say since probably 90% of players take it as one of their two summoners that yes it is "that good". Just IMO though....
My R is only in the target selection of on an enemy only click allowed.
I am usually not thinking stupid when I am an all go and all of my options are timed for me to use:
I R/ rush to the enemy right next to them, Rain them with my E-W-Q then having only now learned to use
I, which some other person already stated, I now have an out with
so I can heal.
With
I will run with
, but now only when I am team supporting with a newbie newcomer.
No worries to me, I always used to run with
, but with other higher levels of knowing my teammates can eat their own
, I am then usually OK with now running:
for
As for the support ability I will share my spells role when
, I know I can because I am usually
team support, and supporting role is innate or an ability second nature to me. My online game time frame of mind is always tuned in a team Support Role regardless of any Champion I could ever select for a game. Team Support is defined as the person I am on a daily basis in an online game or in real life.
I am not ignorant to the fact that without
your game with
is significantly more compounded.

helpful if ready to gain up the space between you and a retreating Low Health Enemy.
Helpful with securing the last strike to the enemy's death, rather than trying to land the last strike after taking the enemy to low health level the next go around, since there might not be another next go around with the enemy.

is objectively better on most champs than any other spell, simply because it lets champs move over walls. Sure, there's a handful of champs wiho have their own dash/jump/etc. ability (like
) who can get by without it, and there's a few champs who are fast enough on their own (like
) that they don't need to hop walls to escape or initiate. For everyone else, not taking
is like bringing a knife to a gun fight.
Honestly, I don't like this setup. It makes most summoner spells obsolete. When was the last time you saw someone run {{summoner:2}} or
for purposes other than trolling or ignorance? I suggest that Riot removes
,
and
from the summoner spells and makes them into trinkets instead. Each player would choose a vision trinket, a mobility trinket, and then have the freedom to use more diverse combinations of summoners (instead of being all but forced to choose
+ X).
Some champions have no escape (Jinx, Diana etc.) and need flash, which is more effective for escaping rather than ghost. It allows a person to go over most walls and almost everyone runs it anyway or catch someone/ gap close. Not to mention, flashing away from sure death (Blitz grab into full team) feels great (Although some good timing is required). Flash is needed on most champions, and when you make the most out of it, it can save your life and end that of your foe's.
On another note, some champions like Annie, Ahri and Riven can do some pretty good things with it.
Seems like someone has yet to see a bear called Tibbers after getting flashed and stunned by a little girl. Kappa.

Flash sucks and is the biggest meme
This is probably actually correct at lower ELO. There, most flashes seem to be used simply to save themselves in spots where ghost or exhaust could have worked just as easily for less of a CD.
.....or, alternately, flash is used to flash directly under enemy turret because the opposing ADC "only has 1 hit left," which causes the player to die after the enemy heals themself and turns on them. So, not taking flash actually prevents bad plays that wouldn't have been an option otherwise as well.
However, once you get higher ELO, there are plays that can be made with flash, when used properly, that can not be made with any other spell.
