Reasons to ever play Darius over Renekton or Urgot?

Sujiren··1 votes·1,728 views

All 3 champions fullfill similar roles, as juggernauts and lane bullies, all of them are strongest during early to midgame and kinda fall of late game. Yet, after all the nerfs to Darius, I feel like he is the weakest of the 3.

He has the most lane counters of the 3, he has the lowest reach of all 3, and it takes him the longest to set up his all in, in addition to that he is the easiest one to punish and shut down with ganks.

I am not gonna compare winrates as I don't feel like they prove anything, I just don't feel like there is ever a situation where Darius would feel like a stronger pick than Urgot or Renekton. Thoughts?

Why would you ever play urgot if you are trying to win?

Because a good Urgot player wins pretty much every lane match up other than vs Yasuo. You still lose some games when your fed on Urgot, since he is not a particularly hard carry, but reliably winning lane pretty much every single game is still good.

Rene needs to buy dmg to do dmg. I've seen more than enough tank dariuses with BC as only dmg item to get pentas, outlasting and outdamaging everyone.

ren falls off, urgot idk why your comparing

darius is 1. easier to play than ren 2. his 1v world potential is better than ren. ren maybe a better duelyst but dar is much better at fending off and winning against opposing ganks. 3. BC plus Q apllying passive in team fights = 2-4 people always having their armor heavily down if your in the thick of it. which helps your hopefully fed adc shred through them more.

could probably think of more but im lazy

The more impactful and elegant dunk.

darius is a 100% win potential if he is a darius main (and good player :P ) renekton falls late game urgot is total crap , i wouldn't play him even on AI bot games

Renekton doesn't fall off late game. His damage does a little but his kit carries hard. People just confuse lane bullying with team utility.

A good renekton will cause chaos for the enemy late game. CC. Tankiness. AOE. Escape.

Both Darius and Urgot continue to be more damage orientated than tanky orientated as games progress.

Darius will remain a threat, even utilizing a full tank build, is good at defensive play and remains a viable threat even when put behind all the way until the super late game where everyone reaches six complete items. Renekton has an unstable early game and no way to be useful when behind, as well as falling off around the start of late game.

Urgot is... The weakest out of the three. A marksman that wants to be a juggernaut, he is extremely item reliant and completely useless if behind. He has no way to come back into the game, his innate abilities are so weak he cannot contribute to his team other than by being a very squishy meat shield, all his spells are abilities that are extremely hard to hit with very long cooldowns and innately low damage output and he falls off so hard late game that you might as well consider him a squishy turret. Urgot is countered by high mobility, high attack speed, low cooldowns, shields, any form of sustain, any form of crowd control, and - get this - simply above-average movement speed. In other words, nearly every single champion in the game can deal with Urgot. It's all a matter of stats, similar to Irelia but much weaker and less reliable.

He has no reliable wave clear either. Both the other front liners have that much.

I feel like it would have been a better rework if he were desined as a melee instead of hanging on to the ranged AA

Then that would have felt like a different champion overall...

Idk why everyone lies about darius being garbage. You literally bully melee tops to the point they cant cs. Build bc and rest tank and do insane dmg. Heal on q multiplies by enemy champ and its %hp. Fuck darius.

Darius is better at taking out tanks and people without hard mobility.
