@Riot Stashu: Your Cassiopeia rework is beyond salvation

Scarborough Fair··30 votes·1,756 views

Just stooooop trying to make it work because it won't stacking mechanic is flawed, thematically unfitting, doesn't even fit with her current kit, and you won't rework her kit because of the "lack of resources" And if you somehow by a miracle manage to fix it without making heavy changes to her kit NOBODY LIKES IT AND NOBODY WANTS IT JUST STOP OKAY

I'm just really confused about what he wants from these changes. He says that now we should max Q first, but then he nerfs the movement speed that Q gives at later ranks, making me want to level it second.

It also seems that without the "killing poisoned units" part of the passive, it will be much easier to deny Cassi passive stacks.

I wish he would just revert it.

Cass is currently guaranteed her bonuses by 10, 25, and 50 minutes respective to each tier, because of how the mechanic was changed.

Also, he said you could max her Q more viably, now, as her E has been made a better 1-point skill than it was previously.

Disclaimer: I do not play Cass, nor do I believe her rework has been handled as well as it should have been. Just sharing relevant information.

It also forces cass to be hyper agressive to get those stacks with her poison.. at her weakest stage of the game!

Also no matter how good she does early game, she'll always be weaker than her enemy laner until that magical number hits at 40 min and she instantly gets a huge AP boost out of nowhere.

As long as stacks exist on Cass, the rework will never be good in my eyes. Idc if her 500 stack bonus is her spells insta kill the enemy and blow up the nexus, stacking is just not FUN.

The point of maxing Q first , pre-rework, was the safety of the range.

What is the point of maxing Q first if you're just gonna get into E's range anyways......

anyways, her power does come slightly earlier now and it isnt as frustrating before patch

To the OP, when Stashu tells us that he now has a "lack of resources" to rework her, this is corporate jargon for "the team I was assigned to direct and manage her rework has been assigned to another project so that right now I have no one but myself to do coding, programming, artwork, and everything else that a team is required to do." While I do dislike the rework on the whole, you have to be understanding that Stashu does in fact work for a company and cannot just conjure a team of techno-nerds out of thin air to cater to our every whim. With that being said, he did squander the time he had with his resources by not involving the community in the rework and in doing so creating a weak, hated project that went live while his team said "Well done" and moved on. I'm torn in that I can sympathize with frustration of how much red tape is bogging him down in the corporate work place coupled with the aggressively mean backlash from the gamers and the opposite side of hating his sloppy job and stubborn persistence with this left-field belief that his rework was actually a good thing.

Just tried Cassiopeia in Co-op.

99,99% damage from E 0.01% damage from posion. Damage from ultimate too low to even consider it (less damage than 1 E)

She's super mana hungry. Her E mana costs are 30/45/60/75/90 (taken from site), so gotta build tear and chalice. So no AP for good 10 minutes.

Her W (miasma) deals whole 9 damage at level 1 I think Stashu didn't even read her lore.

Poison damage after applying E is ridiculously low. Because poison overall damage is non-f***ing-existent. And her Q "Noxious Blast" 1st tick happens immediately after cast. So even if i wanted to use whole bonus damage perk = i can't.

21 minutes of Co-op. Managed to get ~290 stacks. Vs freaking bots. They were dancing in my poison pool. Your passive kills Cassiopeia in competitive scne. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Conclusion? Stashu. Stop it. If you really want champion with stacks, then create a new one. Leave Cassiopeia as she was before.

yah, this is all mostly wrong. First of all, Cass isn't all that mana hungry. Building tear will suffice as her E restores mana on last hit. You'll really only run out of mana during either an extended team fight or grabbing a dragon/baron. I haven't yet experimented with these changes but my guess with the E buff is that you'll require fewer Es to burn through the opposing team so you might not even need a tear and can go RoA instead. Those are some things I'll have to try out. With the stacking passive, I think I was getting to 400 usually by ~35min so i'll have to see if this is a real buff to her stacking which i'm skeptical about since I was using the minions to help stack before and now I can only use it to restore mana.

Cassieopia is a mess right now,

Actually it works pretty well, having seen it in PBE. That AP ratio buff on E really lets you put the hammers on with your burst, while her poison harass early makes her early game much more poison focused. Basically, laning is back to being poison centric with E just primarily as an amp and late game you play the DPS game rather than going "lol stun here have a dot and another dot and you're dead kthxby"

I actually like the changes, I played Cassiopeia a bit before the rework but couldn't like her, she felt a bit Shaco-ish, as in, I MUST get fed off the early game because I simply don't have the tools to be strong lategame. Now while I've been completely unable to make her work (it's a player skill thing, she went from being hard, to being HARD), the idea and the promise of a lategame monster are really interesting.

My main problem with the pre - 4.21 Cass was that she was forced to push the lane in order to farm stacks, which was awful, but with this change, stacks just come naturally, and even if I'm unable to pressure the enemy laner and poison him, the skirmishes and teamfights that are bound to happen are enough to get me a decent amount.

Overall, I may be biased by having played old Cass and not liked her one bit, but I feel this rework really brings life to the champion, then again, I believe the numbers to be a bit undertuned, specially as it concerns her lategame, but that's the kind of tuning that these updates (like 4.21) are meant to achieve.

Yeah I gave 4.21 Cass a try.

....really, nothing changed. She still frustrates me to my very core.

Also, have fun playing against any champions with mobility.

Yeah this was a pretty shit rework

It's definitely an improvement from pre 4.21 cass. The minion farming was one of the most annoying parts of her kit.
