Dealing with Stealth (looking for advice)

So... I have a HUGE problem with the new stealth system that Riot implemented. Before now, I hadn't noticed it, but.... I recently had a game where I experienced the sheer carnage that is Twitch in solo Q.

Now, this isn't going to be complaining - I'm not going to be the one to convince Riot that their game needs tweaks. What I am here to do is to knowledge my weakness, and try to find a way to remedy this weakness.

So... what can be done about champions with stealth?

My issue:

Stealth champions engaging on me from a range where it is impossible to detect them. Twitch has a higher attack range than the range on his stealth, meaning you won't get even an after-image of him before he pops that R, and takes you out in about 2 auto-attacks. Twitch is the main offender, because at the very least, Shaco is going to have to throw his dagger at you, and slow you so that he can catch up to you without being detected, and Rengar... well, let's face it, people are used to that at this point, and at my elo no one really plays Rengar, and when they do, he usually doesn't get fed to the point that he's a problem.

I've been racking my brain to find a way around Twitch, such that I'd be able to at least stand a chance against him, typically speaking as an AD carry, rather than a mid-lane Mage or Assassin.

I mean, without the old pink wards, or oracles, or something, Twitch can just walk up to you, with you none the wiser, and just eliminate you from existence, before your team even realizes that he's been there. So, I'm up for suggestions. I mean, buying a tank item will only delay the inevitable, and increasing the number of attacks he needs from two to five or six isn't all that helpful because he can deal that kind of damage in mere SECONDS coming out of stealth with the attack speed buff on his Ambush.

So... I'm all for suggestions.

Also, as a frame of reference, this scenario actually occurred after I personally stomped him into the ground during the laning phase, so you could imagine that I was feeling some kind of way about the absurd amount of damage he still managed to deal, being that about 10 minutes earlier, he was trailing by about 5-6 kills, and at least 50-60 CS, when he also had nothing more than Berserker's Greaves and a Runaan's Hurricane.

Yes, the Twitch in this game was pretty bad - did not know how to itemize, mechanics were questionable at best. But, god damn if he didn't have the balls to Q, walk straight through a fucking warzone, and tear me to ribbons with his super bolts.
