Why does Veigar have the best of...everything?

He has the best burst among AP champs, the best scaling, and the best stun. And he's also an anti mage, since he scales off enemy AP. That means I can't play about 90% of mid champs in this game, because any AP I build means more damage for him. He also has the safest laning phase, because you can't deny him with that huge stun. Please tell me, what is Veigar's weakness? He has none.

Jesus, this board has the collective memory of a rock.

None.

Honestly it's largely because almost every post like this is someone who has never posted before or does so rarely (OP here being a rare exception). The amount of 'fire and forget' posts in G&B alone is demoralizing. Very very few people are actually open and/or comfortable having a discussion. And the few who are are usually talking with someone in an entirely different rank and are therefore looking at the entire game differently (i.e. silver vs. a plat talking about Riven). Combine that with how often champion balance gets pushed around and you get very little reward for logic and a lot of upvotes for Fotm hype and complaints.

Squishy AF No mobility Has to level up the stun to keep you in place long enough to hit with Dark Matter consistently. All-in types like LeBlanc, Fizz, Zed, etc all excel at 100-0ing the short stack. As well, champs with very long range poke/harass (Xerath, Ziggs, Nidalee, Lux) can all safely poke Veigar down without being at risk.

Veigar is a huge threat if, and only if, you play passive in lane. If you let him farm to his heart's content and never harass him or try to push him out of lane, then yeah you're gonna have a bad time.

Also, fun fact; if you're caught in the middle of his stun, and not in immediate danger, your best option is to actually turn and engage rather than run into the damn wall like a lemming and leave yourself open to be taken out (Much like how it's better to turn back and get closer to Darius rather than try to outrun him when he's winding up his Q).

Counterplay exists.

because the boards complained that his better j4 ult wasn't instant anymore and whined for buff after buff

ScriptBrand1 votes

his weakness? he's a sitting duck once he uses his spells and his damage is unreliable once his ult is on cd and he has absolutely no mobility

Easiest ways to learn his weakness?? Play him against people then you will know.

IH stop. Veigar us fine. Nothing has changed. Just cause he's played again you want to qq an nerf him into unviability.

Stfu.

Please, go on about how AP champions can't beat him.

Step 1. Deny him farm early game (Xerath killed Veigar 4 times before 10 minutes, shutting down his early farm-happy laning phase.) Step 2. Burst him from range when you get your AP (see the rest of the game) Step 3. Laugh at the end game kills (Veigar killed Xerath 3 times, Xerath killed Veigar 11 times)

Wow, you beat one bad Veigar player. That totally means he's balanced.

Please, tell me where the strategy fails. There's a reason Champion.gg favors Xerath in the matchup. - http://champion.gg/matchup/Veigar/Xerath/Middle

"But that win rate difference!" is a 13 game difference. 13 games that could have AFKs or other lanes that did poorly enough Xerath couldn't bring it back.

honestly i see 3 options for an easier time dealing with him

  1. pick a champion with much longer range hes (Ziggs Xerath )
  2. pick an AD mid (Zed Talon Yasuo)
  3. or you can pick an ROA mid as they seem to have a reasonably easy time against him (Karthus Swain Anivia)

Yeah, I just hate how he's super tanky and mobile and does %hp damage on every third hit. I also hate how he has infinite sustain and can bully everyone out of lane. His tower shred and global pressure is also a little strong, might want to nerf that too eh.
