Nerfing the range of gapcloser isn't entirely the way to go (not completely about Kass)

Even if I've been making a shitton of Kass threads recently, this isn't necessarily about Kass, just in general.

I see suggestions for nerfs to things like Nid or LB or Vi or Jarvan where they propose nerfing the range of LB's W/Nid's W/Vi's Q/Jarvan's EQ, which isn't a good change at all. As much as I hate all four of them, this kind of change just makes a champion feel terrible to play since they're so key to actually dealing damage. For example, while playing Kass recently, I actually missed several kills and even died a few times after calculating a kill because the ult range left me short of them. By nerfing the range of something that is completely key to landing AND that puts them into a shitty position if failed, you are forcing people to essentially relearn a champion and they'll always feel like they have an awkward kit.

This isn't to say that there aren't gapclosers that can have their ranged nerfed, however, such as LB's W return, Zed's W/R swap (doesn't need to be global lol), and point and click things like Jarvan's ult or Lee Sin's W or Vi's ult. Basically, the point is, any gapcloser that needs to land on top of somebody to deal damage just feels terrible to use after having ranged nerfed.

Don't make the same mistake twice even if Nid/LB are cancer tumors to this game.

The prob with Nida though is that it can lock on and chase you for over 1k units if you try to react to it. That is toxic and never should of been added. The double range I am 100% okay with but not when you add in a lock on the guarantees success.

Still a numbers problem since it's a Lee Q with less tracking at 750 range.

I don't think most people complain about the mobility these champions have. It's the fact they're highly mobile without giving up much.

Kass gives up a lot for his mobility. His base damage and scaling are not really great. And his early game is bad. I personalty don't even think of him as an assassin, but more of an AP bruiser.

Leblanc used to give up her waveclear till they reworked her R.

What do Nid, J4 and Lee give up for their mobility? All of them have strong damage and a decent way to stay alive. J4 and Nid I wouldn't say really fall off later in the game. Nid can do a lot of things that don't require her to dive targets. J4 has strong CC on a short CD and a powerful ulti and a strong shield(when hitting multiple champions). Lee has it a little worse than J4 but can do so much more with the right skill.

I'm not going to say that they don't need nerfs, I'm just saying that this nerf will just make a champion feel as terrible to play as Kassadin does which shouldn't happen again.

Hit their damage or their jungle clear, though.
