So what's your guys' thought on nerfing Yasuo's E CD?

So recent testing nerfing to the pbe show that Riot is considering nerfing Yasuo's ability to trad early game (by reducing his Q and auto spam early game) and reducing his team contributions by making the armor pen of his ult only apply to his crits alone.

I personally think the R nerf is perfect since Yasuo has always been supposed to be played like this assasin that work well on team fights and alone, and making him able to amplify his team's damage on top of increasing cc duration was always weird to me.

However I think that most of Yasuo's frustration when playing against him (and the reason a lot of unskilled players at lower elos use him to feel they are making big plaiz) is his ability to mindless shove in the wave, trade and get out and then deny farm/ pushing potential with his W. If we see recent similar cases, other assasing have a condition/ constraint in order to get out of a trade:

Zed has a delay on his ult Le blanc's reowrk will have possibly a small delay on snapback w Ekko has to proc his passive Kha zix has to secure a kill/ assist Renekton needs to fill his fury meter Riven is constrained by CDs

So why can Yasuo get away with having endless moblity every new wave and endless pushing power? (having no moblity when there is no minion wave is not a healthy contraint because Yasuo pushed the previous wave and can just walk back and wait for the next one). I genuenly think having Yasuo start with some small amount of cd that goes down per skill point until it reaches live value would be a great balance for him. This would mitigate the frustartion that most ap midlaners have because yasuo simply outpushes them ealy game with no resource constraint (ziggs, veigar, swain, vlad, ahri and the like) and then with his AD and AS crumbles their tower, while also making top lane yasuo more desicion focused on when to go in and out of a trade during the laning phase

it would make him feel clunky, I think the base damage of his e and q should be nerfed and have either the duration of his w or give it a health bar

clunky is definetly a concern, but not having counterplay is even worse. Yasuo has a huge advantage over skillshot oriented champions simply because he can dash so fast and avoid all damage without even trying to, and then windwall to retreat to safety. Of course the counterplay to this is having your jungle gank your lane but in solo Q that is not always an option

another possibility could be, that using windwall takes away a stack of gathering storm

Could be, don't know how effective that would be for sure tho. Since Yasuo already takes very little damage I am not certain reducing his shields capabilities is the best way to nerf him. Of course I can't say for certain, it might be

my last idea would be to have his e cost flow, so when the shield was proc'd it would have a slightly reduced effect

(a) "clunky" is just a name for "can't click all the keys at the same time and get all the results simultaniously" (b) i think its ok for yasuo to become a little more clunky. (c) what I would like to see is a small, 0.5 second CD to his E whenever W is used and a small CD to his W whenever E is used. (d) what I mean by that is that WE / EW combo (dash while CC-immune) is no longer available.
(e) reason: it is a "no counter-play allowed" combo.

I think your solution might make yasuo to complicated/confusing to play as. However Papa's solution of having windwall have a health bar just like yoriks does sounds interesting to me.

Just give it a scaling cooldown.
