the format confuses me. Mind paraphrasing your evidence like a regular person, then giving us the source?

Also... ... Thresh, leona, alistair, braum, nautlus are all "tanky" supports; Only two of them dont benefit greatly from building standard AP.

your vile against tanky supports is.... annoying. Mostly because ANY champion can build tanky. Its not like ADC where you need to be built for it; Hell, in solo queue, tank toplane vayne works.

4 out of that 9 were thresh, who is only sort of tanky. He builds tank because he doesn't have anything else to build (aside from CDR which is conveniently available on several tank items), but he doesn't really have a Leona like rush into your face playstyle. Partly because he's actually quite squishy in lane -- he needs a ton of soul farm to have decent survivability.

And it's clearly not tanks as a class that are a problem; Leona is niche, Alistar and Taric aren't picked at all. Nautilus is popular, Braum is played once in a while and you're counting Thresh as a tank and inflating "tank" stats.

Plus, 10 games is a really tiny sample size, and Annie and Morgana were banned every game -- indicating that someone thought they might have been picked if they weren't banned.

In fact, in the exact series you picked to show how often tanks are picked, mage support bans outnumbered tank support picks and bans combined (because, in fact, none of the tank supports was considered ban worthy in that series, not even Thresh who was picked multiple times).

Well personally, I disagree. I have beat several Leona supports as Zyra Support, mainly by playing smart. LCS's meta just enjoys a meta of Engagers and Disenagers, Hence Leona, Thresh, Janna.

What people don't know zyra beats leo, thresh, and braum badly. But, rather focus on her absence in mid lane.

Well I didn't know that myself but I guess it makes a lot of sense considering how many Leonas (Leoni?) I've beat. I do wish Zyra has a better passive tho D:
