I just had a game where our Sona refused to build ardent censer...

Even though at the beginning of the game I told her to get this item ASAP. Our adc even got a relic shield for the extra gold income, and one of the first items she builds is hextech revolver. After that she starts to build lich bane. Some people just can't be helped I guess.

Ardent censer is not a requirement. Perhaps it should have been agreed upon beforehand instead of assuming.

Why the hell would you not build this item if you're playing an enchanter? You're doing a huge disservice to your team by not getting this. If you're going to play Sona build her like a support instead of an AP burst mage.

why u expect ppl in bronze to be rational and think what's best? they just go in the game on autopilot building whatever then they cry why they are stuck and bla bla. again u expect wayyyy too much from the elo u play in also play carry mid or jg dont go rammus if u want to climb out of there.

Depends on playstyle honestly. At your elo agressive build Sona works fine, though I wouldn't have gone hextech revolver.

The point is there's two types of Sonas: Utility and AP. Both work. And no, that doesn't mean they forget to ward. The Eye line of items exist for a reason.

The idea that there is only one "right" build is the fallacy here. You might not like it not being rushed, but realize there's other ways to build champions in general.

Then you obviously have no idea how huge of a lane bully she is, especially down in your elo. Neutering her because you sheepishly follow FotM trends doesn't show much forward thinking on your part.

Plus as was already pointed out....it was normals. Just...come on. :P

Bullshit, even if you build offensively, the item is so overtuned that there is no justification for not picking one up if you can apply it.

Even Support Shaco builds it.

When the lead dev is a Support OTP, you know the items are going to be broken so you abuse it as much as you can.

Looking at his history, Sona was Gold as it was a Normal.

if it's a normal then that changes alot. dont expect ppl to listen to u there they will simply troll around and try to have fun. u can't tell ppl what to do after all everyone has free will.

If I were you, I'd be more upset that they're picking Sona when she's the weakest support in League and the worst Censer-user to pick.

She has next to ZERO control on who her "heal" targets (it's the weakest heal in the game.) In addition to that, her "shield" is melee-range & in any practical situation will tag MAYBE 1 ally AT MOST (again, the weakest AND shortest-duration shield in the game.) Not to mention the mana cost is nearly 1/3 of her entire base mana bar.

There's a reason Sona is literally the only Censer user that isn't being played competitively, she's dead weight. Her true winrate is marginally higher than the winrate for 4v5 games; Sona has no presence in-game.

For your information Sona has two ways you can play her, some people do not enjoy the passive play-style (and I am one of them)

Do we realize that Ardent is busted, yeah sure, but there is not some unwritten rule that we should always buy it and stick to the brain-dead way of playing her Some of us play Sona to smash healthbars with insane burst, heal chunks of damage and go really really fast, because that is much more fun then being a backline button masher

The build you described her using is pretty much the same one I use, it maximizes her burst damage and makes her a massive threat early, something that her heavy AP build has to compromise for
