I'm terrible, but I'm good?

Hey there! I'm Cilllller, a Gold V ADC main, and I'm confused. Let me look at my scores in previous games on similar champions? http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2131505554/42084383?tab=overview http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2120113550/42084383?tab=overview

Okay, so, in these games, I was playing Sivir, very basic, with one of the two supports that I usually play with (BattIe Puppy or Siegeninja) Puppy is the designated support for the team, but during the game that I played with him, I ended 0/7/0 with 5.8 CS a minute. However, when I played with Siege, I ended with a nice score of 6/6/20, and 6.6 CS a minute. Was I playing against better opponents? Possibly. Do these two supports compliment my playstyle different? Possibly. But I don't understand why I can go from doing great one game to doing god awful in another? This is on one of my least played champions, keep that in mind. Let's look at a champion like Lucian?

While both games were wins, in one of them, I played infinitely worse than in the other. Why? I played with randoms in both games. This makes very little sense to me. Stat wise, I ended game one fabulously, with a solid K/D of 10/4/5 and 8.2 CS a minute. In the next game I ended 8/10/2 with 7.9 CS per minute. It's rather confusing.

Am I playing against better opponents, are there certain components that change? Please help me to understand

A lot can change

People's champions they're comfortable on or not, favorable vs. unfavorable matchups

People play better and worse

matchups aren't always the same, play styles aren't always the same

decisions, calculations and mechanics also can quite vary a bit

some people have synergy, some don't

It took longer than I would like to understand that your troubles weren't from playing with Shen and Nasus Support. :P

It's explainable in three, very short, parts.

  1. A sample size of "one" is not nearly enough.
  2. Your performance is not going to be the same from one game to another. You might play better or worse depending on your mood and how you felt at that moment.

Most importantly, 3. Those "scores" are completely meaningless, completely; they indicate nothing about how well you played. This is because some number on the post-game screen says nothing about the circumstances of the game that created that number nor anything about how you approached or performed in those circumstances.
