Diana is a better assassin than Assassins and she's not even an Assassin.

Why is a champion like this still tolerated? High burst, high long-term fighting capabilities, high target-access, high survivability, high CC, and once she hits level 6 she's damn near impossible to play again unless you're an extremely ranged champion. This is more of a problem than Akali in a shroud. [zombie-brand-facepalm]

No. Diana is pretty easy to deal with. Abuse her weak early game and get 6 before she does. The moment Diana hits 6 she's probably low health. Use your big brain to gain advantage. Force her to base, shove in the wave, maybe get turret plating and roam or go base.

How long do you expect for her to be weak before she's no longer weak?

By keeping CS and EXP advantage. It's the golden rule. Diana is also very weak to ganks so I hope your junglers take advantage of that. If not, you need to rely on yourself and poke her out early game and force her to back. Pre 6 is your primary winning condition against her if you play good champs with strong early game/poke. Also stop her roams with vision control and follow her if it makes sense. I personally recommend staying in mid and shoving the lane in beforehand. You should be really ahead already if Diana failed at roams and you already had CS or EXP advantage anyway, it's hard for her to recover from that.

The Highest Noon1 votes

The thing about all that is, it's not keeping Diana weak it's keeping yourself strong which doesn't matter to certain champions, such as Garen. That's why I asked the question of how long do you expect her to be weak before she's no longer weak? You can relate the same question to Garen. For how long is he behind until you behing ahead no longer matters? I've seen this in every game that I've ever had featuring Diana. At some point it no longer matters how far ahead you are; she WILL pose an issue for you, so what is that point?

outperforms then how? every single assassin does what she does but better. All she has is more tankyness and utility than them since well... she isn't an assassin so she gets those extra tools. I have no idea where this "outperforming" thing is coming from since she is not outperforming assassins in what assassins are supposed to be doing

Different champions have different strengths and weaknesses. You can't use only a few advantages or weaknesses to compare between all champions and judge who is overpowered or underpowered

The Highest Noon1 votes

Difference is, you're comparing apples to apples. I'm comparing apples to rocks and telling you that an apple hits harder, is bigger, grows on trees, and you can eat it if you're tired of throwing them.

That's the difference in logic here lol

DaBooosh

Ryze Nice health bar. Zoe Is this supposed to be a burst mage?

I'm not saying these champions are 'completely busted', but things like this exist in the game. Why? Because while overall, stats may be better, when focusing upon one specific stat, it's much worse. This is what is bad for champions that have stats spread out across everything. They're okay at everything, but not good at anything. That is completely useless in a team, as we could have five people doing their jobs great, instead of five people who do everything mediocre. In the end, five people who specialize in their distinctive fields will end up with a better result.

Diana is somewhat of an assassin but is a fighter at the same time. Very reliant on landing Crescent strike, which is quite easy to dodge. She absolutely needs her second ult to burst someone, unless she is very fed. Other assassins can kill a carry much more reliably than Diana can. Khazix for example, just needs proper positioning(quite difficult, but is better than trying to land some skill shot that curves, from the same direction every cast. RWEQ, goodbye and E out. Talon? He can do it from much further away too. REQW D/F(depending on which key you put ignite on), Katarina, lots of skill but just too much damage.

These assassins all have a way of jumping on someone, bursting them, and getting out relatively easily. Katarina can use E on a teammate, and her passive makes it so that she can keep killing. Talon Gets out with the use of terrain Khazix E. Akali W, E, and R Ekko R is very reliable Fizz Everyone's airborne, you become untargetable the entire team is dead before anything can happen to you

Even if you look at fighters and bruisers, XinZhao Disengage, burst, dueling Irelia Mobility, dueling sustained damage, anti burst Darius QRRRRR PENTAKILL Yasuo You get the point...

There are so many champions in the game that are a better pick than Diana, I don't understand how you can call Diana even slightly good. She just goes in and is forced to stay between five enemies, quickly getting burst down.

And btw,

What Assassin do you know has her survivability grouped with her burst, CC and dualing potential? There isn't one.

This isn't really an assassin,LeeSin More burst, mobility, CC and dueling potential and survivability from his shield as well as the second cast of his W giving lifesteal and spellvamp XinZhao Same thing. Not much mobility though. R is even a disengage. Healing from passive There are champions that do everything Diana does and better.

Difference is, you're comparing apples to apples. I'm comparing apples to rocks and telling you that an apple hits harder, is bigger, grows on trees, and you can eat it if you're tired of throwing them.

Diana seems to be the rock here

I stopped reading when you classified Brand as a Support. Brand is 100% a Mage and Zyra's primary class is also Mage even if her secondary is Support.

DaBooosh

lol. You stopped reading at the beginning of the post? If you really refuse to listen to people who make mistakes, you're really closed minded. When I mean 'support', I meant they are played in the support POSITION. This means that both Brand and Zyra deal damage without having to farm ---------> on very little gold and items

How is a 100-0 champion with point-and-click damaging dash that resets on Q hits but doesn't matter anyway because aa speed and damage buff on abilities and a pull that also slows (iirc) and double damaging shield in any way more balanced than what we have?

Her dash is only to a target. She only has one dash unless they have Moonlight on them. Her 100-0 is after she scales. She cannot do this without items. To mark you with moonlight she has to hit you with the ability she is going to wave clear with. Simply stand out of the wave so she cannot wave clear and still have serious threat. And I can go on and on.

On the other hand.... Talon, Ekko, Zed (of all people), Katarina, Akali, Fizz, Yasuo, even Aatrox, all have some kind of insane wave clear, on low cooldown or low cost, without as much risk or with some kind of safety ability, or multiple dashes, or healing/shield/resurrection, and all can clear and roam very easily without much punishment. Some even have horribly broken mechanics or basically no cooldown on their abilities.

And there are plenty others. Also, most of them do not need any real items to kill you and are harder to harm or outplay (except maybe Fizz).

So she can 100-0 one target. Great. Good thing she's never in a duo lane.

Her 100-0 is after she scales. She cannot do this without items.

Nobody in this game plays without items (unless for the luls) so that's a moot point. She's strong after her first full item.

Did you forget her AOE aa buffer? And her AOE three-prock damage double shield?

And I can go on and on.

Please do, because your points so far are weak.

On the other hand.... Talon, Ekko, Zed (of all people), Katarina, Akali, Fizz, Yasuo, even Aatrox,

None of them are defeating Diana, save for the possibiliy of Aatrox, unless they forcably build to counter her specifically, leaving the rest of her team to destroy them.

If you believe those points are weak, then you have never played her. She is vastly harder to use safely than all of them. She requires more scaling than any of them. The comment about no items was clearly talking about earlier power spikes, not intentionally skipping items. Most assassins can all-in at level 2 without items. Try Nocture top lane some time.

Winning lane with any champion is easy if you are better than your opponent and not counter-picked and not facing an op champion. Diana can easily be beaten. I gave a simple strategy of doing so just a few posts ago. She really cannot punish you at all if you play that way compared to a lot of assassins, like Ekko, that can all-in you and kill you and teleport away to safety while healing. And he is one of the weaker ones.

She doesn't have to push you to beat you. You can't one-trick a strat and say it'll work 100% of the time, especially when the possibility of it even happening is minimal considering it's an overused strat that largely fails against any competant player.

It is not even about just pushing. She is, by far, the easiest assassin to deal with and the most balanced. This is why she is not picked often nor does she have an absurd win rate. She is actually balanced unlike almost any other assassin.

With how branching the definition of fighter is, it can easily bleed into other roles. Every other fighter that she falls in line with, ie, the Diver line of fighters all have ways to get in and get out. Diana however doesn't, she is a fighter who once she commits to a fight is FORCED to fight, much like an assassin. Diana is an assassin and lacks the tools any of the other fighters have, she doesn't have two lifebars like Kled, she doesn't have the instant 100 to 0 capability from stealth like Rengar who is also an assassin, she doesn't have the tankiness or dueling capabilities of say Irelia. She is an Assassin being marketed as a Fighter even though she lacks everything in her kit to be considered one EXCEPT for a rather meager shield.

All things considered, it is pretty minor for how much she has to risk to get it. Her shield at max gives her 200(+60%) of AP.

Ivern gives 220 with 80% with lower CD.

Janna gives 210 with with 70% with no set up.

Karma gives 210 with 110% with lower CD, though that is gated by Mantra.

Lulu gives 210 with 60%, same CD no set up.

The list goes on. The shield is strong enough to eat a spell maybe, but that is about it.

And in every lane situation of a 1v1, that's enough. A double-proc shield with 3-proc damage that also increases her attack speed leading to an AOE aa buff. That's what makes it not at all meager. It's a strong addition to a Fighterssassin.

Am I not supposed to tell you what's strong about her, in a debate regarding whether or not she's strong? It's her kit as a whole which makes her strong, in my eyes. She'd be much more tolerable if they just...programmed the stupid ass champion right. Why does her R reset before Q even hits? If she presses R before Q makes contact, it should not reset. Honestly I agree with you.

Diana has one of the fastest one shots in the game, WHILE having point and click engage, WHILE being tanky to avoid punishment.

But sheep are sheep. The only reasons people don't recognise how busted she is are: She's actually difficult to play She's really not popular

So she's not a problem in low Elo because low Elo Diana players can't make her a problem. Then since most people climb from low Elo, she never gets seen as a strong pick to become popular. Yet if you watch high diamond to Challenger players, she's actually pretty popular among them - especially as a Zoe counter because she can start her engage after becoming drowsy and kill Zoe before falling asleep, LMAO.
