this was actually my build on quinn last game. i had 2700 hp + the bloothirster shield. and the enemy riven and leblanc could not burst me together, even when they caught me out of position, while i still dealt a load of damage and kited them around.
yes, there was one real defensive item in there with steraks, but the amount of defensive stats on ad carry items is getting stupid. theyre becoming ranged bruisers.

In that build, there's only one dedicated ADC item (Bloodthirster). Lord van Damm's is a general AD-based anti-armor item.
The others are items intended for Juggernauts (Sterak's) or AD casters/assassins (Youmuu's, Maw).

maw is aswell an adc item as for ad bruisers and assassins. they even reworked it to make it more accessible to adc. besides, there is no (melee only) tag on that item.
but its not just maw and bloodthirster. phantom dancers damage reduction, mercurial being easier to build with lifesteal, essence reaver giving them 30% cdr and allowing them to have their kiting tools available more often.
it adds up. riot is tagging more and more defensive actives and passives on adc offensive items.
