Im really confused i had like idk 50 something 70 something LP? i cant remember. I just won a match and the enemy had surrendered and all of sudden im in a series? The system actually does this??

Yep. It happens sometimes if you're on a winstreak I think. Happened to me before. Sometimes you just skip the series entirely and get promoted. I didn't go through my gold-plat promo I just went from gold 1-plat5 once I hit 100 lp.

Yeah. It's pretty cool. If your MMR is too high for your ranking/ELO, you get pushed forward more quickly. It helps to make the queues more healthy, too, since you're clearly above where you're currently placed.

If you have a higher mmr than your rank, you get win more/lose less lp. This is why climbing gets very difficult because you can get stuck in 60 min games then only win 3 lp.

you never win only 3 lp.. Your mmr would have to be incredibly low, like 1 win and 600 losses or so kinda

False. It can and does happen, especially if you're just coming off a losing streak and have been stuck at a certain mmr for long periods of time.

I've never once gotten below like 17 lp in a game. I find this highly unlikely. Maybe in s3 when they had issues like this, but not now.

That's how the system should be... Promos should be for Masters +. Where there is limited positions.
