@Address to Riot, I plead for keeping the Bilgewater Event

http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20150707233235/leagueoflegends/images/2/2d/Gangplank_VU_promo.jpg Real talk. I’m legitimately excited for Bilgewater Event. I wasn’t here for the Freljord’s, and Shurima’s was acceptable, but Bilgewater is hyping me up. New items, a new game mode, a new map, new skins, new reworks, a lore fantasy realized . . . what could be better? But that excitement’s being eclipsed by a sort of dread. Riot, you’re scaring me. I’ve seen what happens to new game modes. We see them for a turn before they’re carted back to the workshop. For some game modes, I can’t say that I miss them. But this? This splendor you’ve provided me a peek with . . . I’m don’t think I want to part with it.

For the Shurima Event, you added the Ascension game mode. Pardon me for saying, but it wasn’t that radical. You basically slapped sand VFX over the Crystal Scar and called it good, changed objective mechanics besides. A single item was added for the game mode: the Golden Ascension. Again, it wasn’t that interesting. It was a specialized trinket meant for Ascension alone. All it did was teleport us into the ring. I enjoyed Ascension nonetheless. For the Bilgewater Event, you’re choosing to mix things up on the Rift. You’re adding no less than 15 new items, all with their own snazzy icons, recipes that build off themselves and old items alike, revolutionary stat combinations, and wholly new mechanics. You’re proposing a new boot enchantment which could change the nature of top lane and affect every other role. You’re introducing four new minion types, each with their own models, icons, abilities, strong suits, and upgrade paths. This, all of this . . . isn’t a one-off trinket integral to a single game type. This is a whole new game.

One thing concerns me, and one thing alone: The prospect of you shelving this stuff once the event is done. I’m sorry, but you can’t seriously consider iceboxing all this hard work! One of your watchwords this season has been “diversity”. Item diversity, champ diversity, strategic diversity –it’s been reiterated over and over again. You’re giving us 15 new items with as much veracity as the vanilla items, and a whole new spin on the game that changes it up more than ever before. If you’re claiming to want to “diversify” the game, let us keep this inflow of new content! Have these new items available to all the maps, continue to support this new and exciting game mode that has so much potential. If it’s all about the LCS and tournament players, let them get their hands on it! Allow them to always get their hands on it! The potential for strategic gameplay here is out of the freaking wahzoo!

Even now, fans have petitioned for keeping Butcher’s Bridge once the event’s done. It has so much detail and love put into it, it’d be a damnable waste to see it go, a crime! It’s a viable alternative to the Howling Bridge, and has just as much right to exist as its Freljordian counterpart! I’m sure you’re putting just as much time and love into this Black Market Brawling. If you’re open to keeping Butcher’s Bridge around, why would you disregard such this slew of spanking new content? Please. Don't make this something I'd mourn.

...Wait, what? What new items? What new mechanics? I'm genuinely confused what you mean by that, since I didin't see any new PBE update adding that.
