knife jump resets make her stickier than akali and harder to escape from, when akali is supposed to be THE sticky assassin with a long combo

She does a better job of being able to chain kills together except she can also just kill multiple people simultaneously; despite being an AoE monster she's just as capable of killing you one on one, akali is almost completely single target

constant blinks are a better avoidance tool than her stealth and she can choose where she jumps around you (akali could at least have this much desu riot )

when would Akali ever be a superior pick to Katarina now? RIP sideboob ninja?

Akali is better when the opponent knows how to angle Kat's daggers to land in crappy spots and make her shunpo resets hard to get.

After Akali's nerf to procing her Q a long while back, she has not been as popular. Mostly just mains play her now because other champions like Kat can do her job better and arguably easier.

it just bothers me that Katarina stole talon niche as AoE assassin AND akalis role as the sticky assassin/carry and then goes on to do both of them far better

Well Talon got a new niche as a powerful roaming assassin and Akali is getting a full VGU that will probably redefine what she is.

Plus Katarina was always an AoE Assassin.

I think akali could at least use some buffs to mechanics rather than damage output

Probably, but I still think she needs a rework with a lot of attention than just some mechanic buffs. I'd like to see what more they could do to make her more ninja like. Maybe giving group utility with her smoke bomb.

Honestly her smoke bomb feels like the only thing worth keeping thematically. I never liked how her ult worked.

Katarina was an AOE assassin since before Talon even fucking existed dude.

Akali is still stickier than Katarina, as well as far more durable and a better duelist. I will dunk on Katarina as Yasuo with no effort as long as she's not far ahead and I have my PD. Akali will dunk on me until I accumulate more gold.

Sure Akali is strictly worse than Katarina overall right now, but they don't really operate that similarly, and Akali is in line for a full VGU.

Katarina's ult was basically her entire kit before the rework, and even then all of her abilities but shunpo were multi-target or AOE. Katarina has historically been the champion who is statistically most likely to get a pentakill, and it's due to her ability to kill lots of people in team fights with her AOE ult resets.

Talon was the champion you picked to wipe one person off the face of the map instantaneously with no counterplay. This identity was toxic as fuck, so he's been changed, but Katarina is still the primary AOE assassin. Also, uh, Talon isn't exactly even close to underperforming. He's extremely strong right now. Why even bring him up?

Kat was always the AoE reset assassin before Talon was ever in league. She didn't steal it from him, lol. I can agree with Akali though.

Akali is more durable, has invisibility (with soft CC) and has stronger healing. You have a far better chance of taking down a tank as Akali than Kat does. Plus her W lets her get over small walls. Not to mention that Akali chases better, since she can have up to 3 consecutive dashes, whereas Kat can only have two (at the most).

the prob with kat isnt he cooldown on shunpo... its cooldown RESET on shunpo. she already has a cooldown reset on her passives she does not need another
