Again, what's wrong with the math?
The tower changes are supposed to be like an overall 50 effective health buff. Why do they feel so weak? Is that just the buff to AD itemisation and the increase of structure damage from APs from 40% to 50% AP?

Because the tower health went up Yes. But all the resistances are Gone. If you build 8 warmog's on udyr, you are still going to get MELTED without armor. Its the same thing. The towers lost those resistances, so you can melt them.
Nononono. We're talking about effective health. 100 resistance is 50% damage reduction, it's a matter of values, numbers, not opinion or feeling or psychology. Taking away a 50% reduction and doubling the HP, plus 50, comes down to straight out buffing by 50. Please.
yes, but 50% reduction is a lot more impactful than doubling the HP. And no, not everything is mathematical and valued. Explain love to me in math. So don't give me that bs and say "please" as if i haven't passed the 5th grade. otherwise like you said "why would it feel weaker". Because it is fam.
Imagine cutting Alistar's ult damage resistance in half, but giving him a renekton-like HP buff... Yeah, he would have more HP but he would in essence take more damage. nullifying his "Granted" bonus. resistance > effective HP
Imagine removing his damage reduction and instead giving him a Renekton ult that multiplied his HP by of how much his current ult increases his effective HP through damage reduction. The result is that instead of being penalised for buying resists, he has an incentive to. Assume he has 50% damage reduction. It is multiplicative, which means that if his resists already give him 50% damage reduction, then his ult gives him not 100% but 75% (50 from resists plus 50% of the remaining 50 = 50 + 25). Any additional resist will have its effectiveness already at 1/4 for the first point and lower for any further point. If instead his ult gave him double his current HP (50% damage reduction means effective HP being equal to double of visible HP), he'd still have the same effective HP (being able to take the same amount of damage) as with current system, BUT his damage reduction would be at 50% from his resists, which means any further resist point bought would be reduced to 1/2 effectiveness instead of 1/4. So why doesn't Renekton's ult make him tankier than Alistar? Because Renekton has 3000 HP (assume) and his ult gives him 300. Not 3000, which would come down to doubling his effective HP just like buying 100 resists. And why is full HP not viable? Because 100 of a resist gives you as much effective HP as buying your entire HP bar (aka 6 items for someone with low base HP, impossible for anyone else)
No. No. NO. It's simply because I had the wrong numbers (perhaps a previous PBE iteration?) as the other guy pointed out. P fucking lease. This is not "love" damage in League of Legends is calculated, not random. A machine can't say "this guy's fed, he should hurt", it needs formulas. I had the formulas right but the numbers wrong, if the numbers I had had been right then the turrets would have been buffed, although very minorly.
