Why do Olaf and Darius use mana when they don't use any magic type moves?

Olaf is a viking, he feels like Trynd in being a eager and Darius is a soldier, who swings his axe around which is apparently magic.

Imagine laning against Darius if he didn't use mana, it would be like 10 times worse than laning against Renekton.

There are many examples, like why can nami heal brand with water, or why brand can die by ignite, why can cassiopeia turn to stone malphite etc.....

How does Nami survive out of water? Shen is a ninja, yet he's a tank. Lee Sin is blind, yet he has multiple abilities that give vision. Talon doesn't seem like one to use mana either, he still uses mana. Who needs logic?

Probably because darius would be horribly broken if he had no mana gating in the early game.

I mean Darius aside, would it be wise to remove the mana cost from Olaf? i would like to think so, have a pretty good poke, a W steroid that can be spammed regardless of your mana pool. Heck I can see them making the W cost health so that synergy with his passive. Ya know what, make the W have a passive were he heals every X auto attack (or just give him life steal) and then make the W active give him the attack speed steroid.
