Singed is such a horrible champion.

Disclaimer: This isn't a vent/rage post, i havent played league in like 3 hours atm so obviously i'm calm and not just salty about a recent loss.

I am so tired of losing to this champion. He has way too much stuff in his kit for such a braindead design that requires virtually 0 skill to play.

You pop ghost and ult, outrun the enemy team while facetanking all of their damage and cc because, guess what, you're singed with item 3111 so none of that matters to you, press W then E on the enemy carry, boom your team won the fight and probably the game.

Oh and if you build him damage? Haha now you're an assassin picking off tanks and squishies alike by outrunning them then just spamming QE on them and killing them in 1.5 seconds (if squishy) / 6 seconds (if tank) with literally no counterplay other than "don't be there."

If your team dies while you're farming? Don't worry, you can just infinitely proxy the minions and deny the enemy team waves to push with until your team respawns, then charge into the backline with 1500 movespeed and click on the enemy carry! Haha, such skillful and interactive gameplay.

But the worst part about this champion? It's that even once you've managed to juke him and get out of his poison trail, even once you've flashed over a wall to escape him, his poison trail still damages you for like 3 seconds. Why? Why do i take damage from an ability im not in? Thats like getting hit by a Soraka E, leaving it before it ends, but then still getting rooted and taking damage when it actually ends. That's like continuing to take damage from a Karthus E that you left 3 seconds ago. If other champions dont have this, why is it exclusive to him?

Post over.

I hate him just because his kit is so uninteractive and shitty. You are punished extremely heavily for interacting with him at all.

Melledoneus2 votes

The counterplay to Singed is "hold top lane and have your jungler snowball your carries."

Unless Singed is an idiot, there is no way to kill that bastard as a normal top laner.

Kovaxz4 votes

Cassiopeia and teemo both have the exact same poison effect. Also, any champs have damage over time effects. Poison trail is a dot like any other.

Z3Sleeper1 votes

Yeah gotta understand here the dot is essentially the total damage over 3 seconds rather than the total damage every tick you are in the trail with no dot, which would be quite insane.

My only problem with Singed is his ability to proxy farm, besides that, I think he is fine, just kite him.

Yeah, still kite him, don't let him get to the point where we has all that, his early game is pretty shit.

All of that? You mean. 5000 gold? That's less gold than an ADC core. That's less gold than ANYONE'S core besides potentially Vladimir who goes Shureliya's+Protobelt sometimes.

That isn't core for Singed though, and if Singed is building that and killing you, you would have lost no matter what he built at that point.

Oh ok, well then buying Blade of the Ruined King removes Try's ability to be kited then as well, yeah, if he is using all that, and isn't ahead, won't mean shit, seriously, play someone ranged against him, kite him and keep him underfed and he won't be able to run over your team.

he's actually a massive stat stick champion and is one of the few that's more stat checky than yi/trynd/udyr/mundo since there's nothing to outplay in his kit. His ult is literally "gain X stats" and that's all it does. Nothing unique, nothing extreme, just stats.

I mean hes not more ball of stats than mundo and yi lol.

I mean atleast singed has a unique playstyle.

flibitydoo1 votes

mundo has a skillshot you can avoid along with the don't let the melee touch you shtick

yi has both meditate and alpha strike as things to play around

singed has only the don't let the melee touch you shtick to work with. Everything else is a stat check.

Dude, the point is when mundo is out stating you he does NOT need to land any Q, or he can just throw it in melee which is impossible to miss, the point is that his ult makes him "unkillable" and his E gives like up to 200 ad, so he just runs you down and kills you without you damaging him if hes ahead, thats why hes called ball of stats.

Yi doesnt even have to press W either when he has his build/powerspike completed, sure atleast unlike mundo hes more squishy but if hes fed his gameplay boils down to press R, run at someone, press E and auto + QQQQQ (as you get resets) until you kill their team or you die, you cant exactly outplay his targeted auto attacks and Q.

Singed has to play a weird style that changes from running at ppl and running away, mundo/yi just charge at you while mashing their keys.

flibitydoo1 votes

if we're gonna give them the benefit of "they're fed", then singed exhibits everything mundo and yi do. Except Singed will typically run a rylais so once he sticks on you (which he has plenty of options between ult, ghost and righteous glory) he's not leaving you. And then you die because he just sits there and autos you to death while his poison immobilizes you.

and the thing about "pure stat stick champs" is that they become deadpan useless if not a straight up hindrance when behind. Mundo can still provide cleavers to slow and can regen poke. Yi is pure stat stick so when behind he at best becomes mediocre splitpush. Singed behind skips being useless, he's just becomes a straight up hindrance due to the nature of his kit. At best he proxy farms which is an even worse form of splitpush since he can only destroy minions.

Z3Sleeper1 votes

Flip is never useless. A behind singed still has a god tier catching ability and can effectively sacrifice his life for the enemy adc’s while soaking a bit of aggro in the process.

SooFr0sty1 votes

If he can catch up to you before he blows up.

SooFr0sty1 votes

Mundo triple scales on one stat, health. And if I am not mistaken health is one of the cheaper stats to obtain in the game.

Z3Sleeper1 votes

Not more than mundo, but more than yi.

Yi requires some precise timing and skillful use of q and w.

Singed still has much more skill expression and counterplay than Mundo, which is saying alot.

Didn't know Karth's W dealt damage. Is it like Anivia's W?

I know you mean his circle (E),dw,it can happen to forget (or not know) a champ's kit.

Anyway, every kind of poison stays for a while after it touched you: Teemo's E and R and Cassio's Q do the same. Once you have posion in your organism,it doesn't just leave once you get away from where you got it. It makes sense because Singed makes himself in a risky spot by posioning you: he HAS TO be in your attack range, whatever champ you are,and so you can fight back. Soraka's is an area that she can position from a safe range.

I have a hate/love thing with singed, since i hate how he can pressure without doing nothing, but i love how he can run at people without a care in the world. So i agree with you: he's annoying and hard to deal with (sometimes),but his kit and item interaction is still better than other champs.

VoraciousX1 votes

I'd rather he be forced to build damage than tanky because at least then he can be killed. Other than that and the stupid proxying(which again, can be countered later on by him being forced to build squishy) I think he's fine.

Noor Sakata1 votes

well yeah , and what's worse is following him is considered as trolling and it should have reportable xD

Tuition Fee1 votes

As a supp main, I just hate how hard it is to peel him off of my ADC. He's so fast, and if I protect my ADC while playing a squishy support, it's either insanely hard to actually land skillshot oriented cc on him, or I peel him off at the expense of my own life. His righteous glory and flip are also annoying gap closers. Flashing and flinging is hard to predict, and can often lead to unwanted deaths in the backline.

Bobloser35551 votes

I like Singed because he is so unique, I tried to play him once but I just couldn't get used to his play style.

Chembaron Yamada1 votes

His Q still deals damage to you because it applies poison. And it is absolutely not exclusive to him, that's just how poison works. Other champions have that as well. Teemo Cassiopeia

Z3Sleeper2 votes

I think we all know what poisin is. He meant from a gameplay standpoint.

Gotta remove irl logic from your mind when talking about in game effects.

Tristana should blow her legs off by firing that blast at her feet in W.

Chembaron Yamada1 votes

Who said anything about irl logic? This is about a game mechanic.

Singed is applying poison, this is a game mechanic used by other champs like Teemo and Cassiopeia, too. And they all work the same way: you apply them and they deal damage over time. Hitting an enemy with it again will just refresh the duration of the poison.

And it makes sense that it works that way for Singed. He deals most of his damage by bypassing enemies. The luring damage helps him getting a bit more kill pressure. If the effect would end immediately if you leave the poison trail, he wouldn't have any kill pressure whatsoever on anyone, even if he builds damage.

Z3Sleeper2 votes

Once again, he knows what the game mechanic is. He is asking WHY.

Don't think about it too hard. It's merely a question of WHY is it a DoT in the first place. WHY does his poisin act like an in-game poisin.

I don't agree or anything, just pointing it out.

Chembaron Yamada2 votes

I literally just explained why it works like that. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Z3Sleeper2 votes

Oh no this is getting rough. Time to break it completely down.

OP is inquiring why does [champion ability] deal [damage over time] rather than [damage per instance].

Now once again, I’M not asking. I know why and i told him why. HE wants to know.

And i know you literally just explained it, as have I, but you didn’t explain it in the first post i replied to which is WHY i replied to it.

Let’s look at your first reply again:

{quoted}

His Q still deals damage to you because it applies poison.

And let’s leave it at that lmao. No words needed to show why i would reply to this statement with what i replied.

Quick recap tho:

“Why does Singed’s trail deal DoT damage at all?”

“Because it is poisin.”

Reply of the year lmfao.

Chembaron Yamada2 votes

You are pretty arrogant here, but fine. Your whole point is simply proven wrong by OPs own words.

He didn't ask why Singed is using the poison (btw, it's spelled poison, not poisin. You probably shouldn't behave that arrogant if your spelling can be corrected by someone who doesn't speak English as his first language), but he said exactly this:

[...] If other champions dont have this, why is it exclusive to him? [...]

Now, let's take a look what the word "exclusive" means, shall we?

exclusive: limited to only one person or group of people

The sentence "Why is it exclusive to him" implies that Singed is the only one using that mechanic in the game, which is simply false as I have proven. That was my entire point, it was directly related to what OP said. He claimed that it is an exclusive mechanic for Singed.

Have a nice day.

Nono ur off topic again bud. Back to the topic at hand:

“Why does Singed’s trail deal DoT damage at all?”

“Because it is poison.”

I've been a Singed main for four seasons now. I've played him since he was 42% winrate trash-tier trollpick. Playing this champion now doesn't feel any different from back then. What the OP (and most people that make these kinds of massive QQ salty rants) don't ever seem to consider is team composition, playstyle, and denying the Singed early. Singed's counterplay is pretty clear - spam some normal games and you'll see it.

Singed gets denied fairly hard in lane by matchups that can zone him with range such as Kayle Teemo Jayce Quinn Gnar Heimerdinger Vladimir . Singed's early game is god-awful pre-6 with the exception of level 2 all-in. His health pool is low, his base resists are low, and to be able to last hit, Singed must position within melee range of the creeps (and harass range of his opponent.) If you're using poison trail to try to shove and avoid harass, you need to be on the enemy wave and will eat a shit ton of harass. Singed also naturally pushes the lane while trading with his opponent, making him extremely vulnerable to ganks pre-6. Call your jungler for the free kills.

Most of Singed's good matchups in lane are melee tanks that can't kill him. Picking Maokai Poppy DrMundo Chogath Malphite Ornn etc into Singed isn't "safe" like it is into most other top laners. You'll have absolutely zero kill pressure on him and Singed will just farm for free. Singed is a mid-game powerhouse and if your mindset is to play safe into him you're approaching the matchup entirely wrong. You need to kill him, deny him CS in lane, and abuse his weak pre-6.

Champions like Renekton Darius Pantheon Fiora are all melees that Singed cannot fight in lane unless they make a mistake, in which case it's the player's fault. They all have much higher priority in the lane and can zone Singed starting at level 1.

Given that Singed isn't as easily able to itemize magic penetration as he was before the changes to AP items, items such as item 3155 item 3211 item 3812 item 3065 item 3194 item 3001 item 3060 are EXTREMELY effective against him in lane. Buying an early hex/cowl shuts down any sort of potential to trade that Singed has. Grievous wounds item 3123 item 3165 are a must-have in your team as most of Singed's mid-game tankiness comes from health regen on his ultimate.

Picking champions like SyndraJanna Annie Alistar JarvanIV Leona Lulu Nautilus Morgana Sejuani Taric Warwick into Singed is extremely effective - to be able to teamfight against a Singed you must treat him like a hybrid diver. Chain CC him when he comes close and blow him up - with the aforementioned grievous wounds items he'll be unable to regen and a 3 item ADC can shred him.

"But what about the proxy farming? I hate it and it's not interactive!" Buy item 3751 item 3077 item 1053 etc and face tank the wave. It's not worth it to go chase him unless you can guarantee a kill. Singed is either proxying to farm without being harassed or to shove the lane and draw pressure. If you hold the tower, you cancel him out and get the entire creep wave as well. Walk your creeps to lane at level 1 to avoid an early proxy, Singed cannot tank the wave if you harass him and he'll have to back off or recall. If you chase him, waste time on him, that's exactly what a good Singed wants to do and he'll be spam pinging his team onto objectives while you waste all your time on a side lane trying to chase him down.

If you think you can play against Singed the same as you would any other champion, you're entirely wrong and deserve to lose the game. Riot has him marked under "Unique" class for a reason. His playstyle is entirely different from other champions and you have to adjust how you play against him to reflect that. Singed scales with AP and tank stats. Singed also scales with his opponents' stupidity. If you play carelessly against him, you're going to be punished.

Singed doesn’t fight his laner. That said Teemo is still great against him.

A good Singed will simply clear waves vs bad matchups and retreat whenever low. Chasing singed not only hurts you but hurts your cs score as well since his minions will be dying to your turret while you try to harass him.

The reason teemo works is cuz he makes him back much faster and teemo loves to sit in lane.

The reason Quinn doesn’t is because she needs to roam and snowball herself and her team or else she’ll end up being a subpar adc and assassin mid and late game. She can’t roam when her lane is permashoved.

Dunno about Vayne though. Only becuase Singed is pretty nutty when it comes to setting up ganks via W’s slow and grounding to prevent flash and then Flash E.

I play singed. Quinn is one of his hardest counters but Teemo and vayne are the hardest. Teemo works because he can deny singed of all farm early and he works late because he can put shrooms everywhere singed plans to proxy.

Quinn denies farm like every other ranged champion. Singed can actually build tankier vs her though. If he does, she can still outroam him for the first 25 minutes of the game. She is simply too fast for singed to follow her. Singed has to give up entire waves of cs if he wants to roam post 6. Good players can also deny singed early proxy unless singed gives up 1 or 2 entire waves of cs just to make it to the back side of her turret. Which isn't a smart thing to do but sometimes is his only option if he gets behind. Then while he does this.... She can roam mid or jungle in the matter of 3-4 seconds then come back top and still almost miss no cs

Blades of Navori1 votes

Singed is fine if you don't like playing the game for about 20 minutes and you chose a champion that outscales him. Honestly he needs to deal more damage to minions with higher costs, less to champions, and focus on increasing stats he gets from items rather than a fixed amount. This would reward a good Singed who proxy's well, CS's well, and makes good plays by getting gold and using his ult which increasing bonus stats by a percentage. A bad Singed or one that gets outplayed, etc. cannot boost stats with ult as much because he would be behind. His kit would be a little annoying, but I think this would be enough to not make him as toxic until a potential rework or mini-rework.
