Tank items in one for all
I can only speak for myself, but I hate that tank items exist in one for all. It can already come down to whether your team's champ counters the other team's or it's the other way around which sucks, but that's what happens in blind pick so it's no big deal. The real problem comes when you get a dps champ vs a tank champ and that tank champ just builds full resist to counter your whole team and that one guy who went adc lux isn't going to make a difference. Your team then loses because you can't fight any fights and the enemy forces everything with their advantage.
Now I understand that certain tanks just can't be viable without tank items (ornn, shen, mundo) to which I say, welp. The game might be fun for the some of the people playing the tanks with the tank items, but to everyone else the game because utterly boring. When you know that whatever damage you build becomes meaningless and you get cc'd for days anyway you lose interest in the game and just early surrender. Late game won't come because you are starved out.
"You just have to outplay," you say, but no champ has unlimited mobility and sustain that lets them escape 5 tanks during a fight. "Build penetration." Penetration is for lasting team fights in a normal setting so that you can damage the tank while still being protected by your team. When your team is the same champ as you and you have no cc or just pathetic amounts of cc, your only defense is running away. Even if you play with the utmost skill along with the rest of your team, the tanks still aren't all close to death. You can't even build sustain as they will counter it. The best hope is that the tank has no easy to use cc...
A burst mage like lux will catch two tanks and kills them with all the teams effort and is then beat down by the rest of the tanks. Adc's dmg themselves while auto-attacking and receive less healing. Assassins can burst one tank and that's about it. Bruisers have an easier time, but they too build slightly tanky and do well in extended fights.
There are champs who get around this by being able to body the enemy early so that they can't build tank, some that can build ap or ad, and mages that have higher than average hp due to the nature of their build, but that pool isn't very deep and creates a preemptive meta. You can't be sure what you are fighting, so you just pick to absolutely win instead of picking something to have fun. If you find a pick in such a pool as fun, congrats.
I personally don't build pure defensive items on tanks so that I can have some amount of fun which can lead to me dying since I have no resistances, but I find that more entertaining than taking no dmg at all just cause the enemy has one dmg output. In SR, TT, and ARAM I take no issues and even enjoy being a beef castle. I just want to have fun in a random game mode like anyone else and it feels terrible to lose because the enemy takes forever to kill but can cc you to death.
I'm also only referring to pure tank items. Items like steraks, titanic, hexdrinker, etc. are fine as they provide slight amounts of defense and still grant some offense.
As for the other random game modes (seige, urf, poroking) I still don't enjoy seeing tank items, but at least I'm not trying to kill five tanks instead one or two. This is just a personal rant that I honestly don't expect to gain traction nor do I think it will be seen by riot. If you agree with me and have a few more points, please leave a comment about it. If you don't agree, you can explain why in a reasonable way that is open to debate and not "Git gud." I'll still play one for all because there are plenty of chances in which this tank business doesn't happen and I need the break from normals.
