Bard Chimes

I like Bard a lot, but I think Riot missed something with Bard. The only reason Bard goes out to roam is to get Chimes which only benefit himself and not his allies any form, excluding a short slow with Meeps.

What if collecting a chime gave a global effect to Bard's allies, such as granting ALL allies on the map some gold? Or giving ALL of Bard's allies a Meep to upgrade the next time they damage an enemy champion?

His chimes give him a reason to go out and roam, while hes out there he can help any allies he encounters.*

You've got it backwards.

Yeah, but his chimes dont spawn out far enough or give him a long enough speed boost currently to be able to do that when it counts. There is also no real way to know where chimes will spawn, meaning the chimes could spawn entirely near or in your lane early game.

You stay in lane till you have chimes spawn, They dont despawn if im correct.

And when you have the time and wards available at your disposal, you roam to get chimes / ward and IF possible assist team / mid lane in ganking for them.

Ive done it before and it works great, just leave 2 -3 healthpacks at the tower for your adc and they'll be fine.

Only thing im not sold on is if i should max Q > W or vise versa. His Q elongates the stun / slow and deals more damage and the W increases health given to the ally.

The only reason Bard goes out to roam is to get Chimes AND help lanes while he's doing so.

Bad Bards just want chimes. Decent Bards want chimes and to ward. Good Bards want chimes to ward AND to do whatever they can to the nearest lane.

Bad ADC's engage 1v2's when he leaves and cries. Good ADC's will set back and farm near the caretaker shrines and not do anything stupid.

Yeeeeah, while what you just said was 100% true, I have to disagree. You'll see alot of "bad Bards" because he's one of the hardest champions to play, and not a very good one at that. I have seen people do well as him but right now, there are better options for supports.

#1 His presence in lane is non existent. He is way to squishy, especially since he's a support. #2 His skill shots are very awkward to aim and your Q can be rendered useless since people can, you know, not stand next to each other! #3 His mana costs (mainly his W) are far to high, especially early game. #4 He requires very good cooperation #5 He snowballs into the late game but is useless early game, a support should stay solid through out the entire game. What's the point of snowballing as a SUPPORT?!
Look at Leona if you want to do a roaming support champion right.

Bard is not a champion, he's a gimmick.
