This game lacks a certain competitive aspect.

If you're going to down-vote me just hear me out first. The way I see it, is that there's no back and forth struggle and one side is always smashing. You can kind of tell which team will win within the first 5 minutes of the game.

The point is, is that the reason why surrender at 15 is up so much is because people know that if they stay for 15 more minutes, they're just delaying the inevitable. I don't agree with the unanimous vote, but you get the point.

Also players don't feel like it's worth their time to play if they're not going to win. You should be able to learn from a loss, but most people feel like they don't take anything away from it.

Games -can- be close, but this genre is balanced so that winning more later is the reward for winning now, to make it so that winning at 5 or 10 or 15 minutes actually matters to winning the game 20 or more minutes down the line. This does mean that back and forth games aren't terribly likely, but in exchange, it also means that fights before the game-deciding fight actually matter to who wins.

The kind of back and forth struggle you talk about isn't really appropriate to this genre if you want it to be balanced right and also have longer matches. Such struggles can and do occur, but one team normally smashes the other once they start winning because some degree of snowballing is necessary for the game to be rewarding.

the reason the 15 minute surrender is up so often is cause one lane gets smashed and the team more often than not gives up, and starts playing as such. noone considers having a bad game, or even try to think of playing late game, ive seen it time and time again, people flame one person for being bad not even knowing all the cercomstances that lead to one death, or god forbid someone makes one mistake, gets on their case and end up throwing the game cause they starve that one person of resorces or refuse to play with them, the 15 minute surrender that happens so much is because people just give up and dont try to come back. not saying that there isnt a bit of a snowball issue in some cases with certain champs, but instead of surrendering unless its like 15-3 or some ridiculous kill/death count like that, or all lanes have lost, get back in the game, or atleast make an attempt to..... and better yet, try to actually help instead of flame one person unless they cant get back into the game... dont make it worse for them by harrasing them to the point that they dont want to play, or starving them more in game.... ive seen mostly jungles and supports do this, they make an opinion about a player, and instead of trying to help their team get back into the game, they try to either be the hero, and starve the player, or give up on trying to win compleatly, not saying other roles dont do it either, but these two have more opportunity to do it.

needless to say, stop playing hero, stop being a dick, and stop acting like your phsycic

Hence the reason they are trying to overhaul Ranked next season. They know that the current matchmaking is broken. the MMR system is really bad for true competitive games. Like you said, one team usually smashed the other. And the autofill feature only makes it 10 times worse.

So if you are looking to climb this season, good luck.
