Riot should remove opponent names in the loading screen and in game in ranked queue. Hear me out.

For the same reason you cant see what rank your opponent is or mastery level with specific champions. I understand that Riot did this to avoid players picking on others or focusing on what you would call a weak link on the enemy team. But what Riot might not grasp entirely or maybe they do they just don't discuss it, is that OP.GG completely contradicts what Riot was is trying to avoid in match ups. For those who don't know you can go on OP.GG simply type a summoner and read all their respective stats such as:

  • Overall win ratio
  • Win rate % with champions
  • Play rate of chosen champions
  • Wither or not the summoner is in a series

So as you see those 4 things above is pretty valuable knowledge on any summoner and sure its nice to keep track of your own stats or see some good one trick ponies runes or stats. But this very very VERY intoxicating for league of legends match making. Why? the same reason why you cant physically see wither your opponent is sliver or gold but i can just download the OP.GG app on my smart phone and look up that player anyways because i can still see his name in the loading screen. So what potential problems would this actually cause ? hmm lets start with bashing our opponent..

Fizz [All chat] Hey Raka that's a nice 31% win ratio you got. Fizz [All chat] Oh man its real shame your in your series Darius i cant wait to kick your ass. Fizz [All chat] Wow so its your first time Garen ?? oh boy ;) Fizz [All chat] Yikes you haven't played for 7 months?? boy your ass must be rusty !

Now how did our favorite fish know all that information ? Now how can you say that information does not infulence a match in one way or another ?? its completely bullshit if say it doesn't because Riot has no way of telling how many players are winning potentially from looking up that valuable information. Sure Riot knows we use OP.GG but they don't how much it influences the match making system league has. The bottom lane is none of that information is nobodies business. My opponents in game stats should be a total mystery and so should mine. If a rioter could shed some light on this topic I'd greatly appreciate it.

If you're 2-11 on the champ you're playing, I'd like to know. Sorry, but I don't agree with this idea of hiding players' stats. I don't always look-up my team mates and opponents but I do it a lot and it does affect how I play. If you're a 2-11 Caitlin going up against 13-4 Vayne then at least I know my bot lane is most likely gonna feed and I may stand a chance of doing something about it or at the very least, not tilt or waste time trying to salvage the lane when they fuck up.

This is EXACTLY why it influences matches, those same people you face can also look you up as well and read you out from the get go. It goes both ways entirely. I never said anything about teammates though just your enemies.

I hope they get tilted by my 60% win rate on Kayle....

it would make winning pointless and you'd get less psychological validation from winning.

you'd feel no satisfaction beating a nameless faceless person, might as well face bots.
