Autopilots in Ranked WAKE UP
You know what I'm talking about, not the afk's, not the trolls, not the 'just bad' players, no I'm talking about the people who play as if they're half asleep because they've been marathoning the game too long. So I present to you: The Autopilot
Common Symptoms:
No Map Awareness - They don't see your 15 frantic missing pings pings and get double killed by Zed when he roams bot, over and over again
No Warding - The trinket in their inventory is a relic of the past, and they place literally no wards the entire game unless its to follow someone who's walking into a bush
No Use of Utility - They forget to use their abilities which aren't for battle, such as
E,
W or
W
Farm Bot - They don't bother trading or roaming, but kind of go permanent farm mode, like going bot to pick up half a wave of cs while the enemy is sieging the mid inhib
Whats Target Selection - They attack whatevers closest to them and end up trying to assassinate the tank or something
Lack of Adaptability - Instead of building accordingly regarding the enemies damage type, amount of tanks, etc., they build their regular basic build or sometimes even 2 of the same item (lol bjergsen
)
Generally Lots of Mistakes and No Presence: They make tons of various mistakes and it doesn't really feel like they're even there, as they spend so much time away from team, roaming aimlessly in the jungle or sitting at base snoozing
This isn't to say that autopilots are bad players, and frequently they don't feed like hell but they just don't pay attention to the game, and it feels like a 4v5 a lot of the time. Especially in ranked, this can be a huge problem as well. The main issue with this is that even if afk's after remake times out are rare (haha jk welcome to NA), and trolls aren't common either, i find that 3 out of 4 games my team has at least one autopilot player. Sometimes I AM that autopilot player, although I try to pay attention and stay alert throughout all my ranked games. So to the people that fall asleep while queuing up for ranked: Please wake up
