16 problems with Sona

  1. Really dislike how her only viable build is no-nonsesne AP build, no shitty support items with their pathetic AP values weighing you down
  2. Really dislike how it seems every support is getting seen to except for Sona
  3. Really dislike how we get no feedback from Riot on this situation
  4. Really dislike that I can't buy full support and do well because her bases are lower then ad carry bases
  5. Really dislike how she is made out of paper but has no actual context or reason for it anymore (no longer a bundle of free stats, has no escape, HAS to get into 550 range to do well during laning
  6. Really dislike how 50% of supports are a direct counter to Sona
  7. Really dislike how her hitbox is the size of a 6 stack chogath
  8. Really dislike that her E only comes with 1% movement speed per level
  9. Really dislike that Q powerchord is a massive shadow of its former self when we pleaded during the rework not to fuck with her damage as it's her identity as a bully support
  10. Really dislike how W powerchord goes unnoticed by my team because the effect is practically invisible
  11. Really dislike how Riot formulated bogus excuses to nerf her and has never backed up their reason properly and we are always stuck with a vague excuse
  12. Really dislike how she is not allowed have a pickrate of over 5% when champions like Thresh get to be 40% pickrate champs for 2 years in a row and counting
  13. Really dislike how her W and E cooldowns do not match her Q cooldown so you can no longer weave spells in timing for your passive
  14. Really dislike how they removed Crescendo giving you a stack of powerchord in her rework acting like it never did
  15. Really dislike how after all that talk about the big bad "invisible power" she had, she still has this exact same problem because the aura effects are so pathetic, they may as well be invisible
  16. Really dislike how if she is played more then 3 times in a pro tournament she is scheduled for nerfs

sigh... And a free one just for the community Really hate how Sona threads get downvoted instantly with no feedback to the thread other then "you are stupid 52% winrate shut up"

its really annoying to read "i really dislike" 20 times, please just say "i really dislike" once before the list.

sona is a strong champ, she is even built in mid and just wreaks.

for support, her absurd poke that auto-hits both champs, and ridiculous sustain with heal and shield make her really annoying.

cool, a bunch of supports have point and click unavoidable poke, Sona is complained about just because it's auto target, yet everyone fails to mention that the damage those bolts do are one of the lowest base damage values in the game, specially for the cost and cooldown

I agree. I've taken Sona mid three times and absolutely wrecked Katarina, Anivia, and Akali so far. Her poke is downright one of the strongest and her sustain is great though her E and the shield could be improved.

  • She has the lowest base damage amongst all supports and the 2nd-lowest damage potential of the entire support class after Braum.
  • Her heal is the weakest in the entire game at 30 base. Relic shield is 40 HP, Nidalee is 45 and EVERY other heal in the game is 60+. Not to mention Sona's has the HIGHEST mana cost, despite being the lowest base.
  • Her "shield" is all the weakest, shortest duration AND most expensive of all supports. It's base is half any other shield, it's duration is more than 2 seconds shorter than anyone else's and just like her heal, it has the highest mana cost.

The only place sona is super seing at the moment is aram since she can shield everyone and pretty much heal you team easily

She's heals for 15 HP on ARAM. That's not an exaggeration, her base is 30. That's the weakest heal in the entire game.

As for the shield... it has 350 range, which it the shortest ranged ability of the entire support class and it has a duration of 1.5 seconds. EVERY other support shield lasts AT LEAST 4 seconds and has double her's base.

Not everyone uses arcade Sona, specially considering the skin got a massive downgrade in particles with her model update

So we're forced to play a specific skin for visibility that should already exist on every skin?

Sona is already going for AP items as a support, the only exceptions being the potential Mercurial's, Frozen Heart if no one else built it and Locket which against is if a tank didn't build it.

Otherwise she mostly does build AP.

Don't except the larger ones like Dcap unless she somehow get a huge spite in gold somehow.

Riot did talk about her recently,

Just don't expect any changes to happen til after worlds ends.

Sona isn't in a terrible spot but she does need some looking at.

The rest is whining or leaving out key information.

I agree she needs changes in the end, just not how this thread is set-up.
