This is a term you will hear eventually in college (assuming you are american)

Macro=The whole picture, the envirnment

Micro= The individuals

So when you put it into league

Macro Game-Understanding in how to "play the map"

Micro Game- Your individual mechanical ability

Famous Macro players: Trick2G, he will literally go onto giant rants in how important "the gates" are, aka the macro.

Famous Micro Players: Faker, Literally the definition of micro/mechanical perfection \

There are 3 words used to describe different aspects of the game; Micro (small), Macro (big), and Meta (about).

Macro mostly refers to map awareness and coordinated movement to get objectives. Macro is the decisions you make, Micro the series of clicks and button presses that you take.

If you were considering warding, Meta would be deciding which players go sightstone, who goes sweeper, who gets farsight. Macro would be deciding where on the map the vision should be applied. Micro is the small precise things in warding; where in the brush is the best spot so that it sees the farthest or is harder to clear, which spots on a wall to drop a ward so that it pops on the other side, ect.

An example of limited use: You're bot lane. Your top lane, jg, and mid all back at about the same time. The enemies are not visible. A macro decision would be A: Do I push the wave? B: Do I just normally CS? C: Do I back off from the wave in preparation for being ganked? D: Do I check Baron (or dragon)? E: Do I rotate to another lane to protect a different turret?

Pushing a wave maximizes damage on the turret you're facing, CSing maxes your gold, backing off maximizes your potential to survive, protecting the correct turret minimizes your opponent's lead, checking the baron/dragon as a 2 man unit against 5 maxes your chances to die. (unless you have the specific vision tools provided by previous Meta decisions)

The macro game is taking map objectives, while the micro game is mechanics. An example of good macro play would be taking dragon at the right time, when the enemy bot lane and/or jungler are dead, while good micro play is something like kiting effectively.

Some champions use the macro game more often than micro, while others use micro more often. I play a lot of Nunu because he's a very macro-oriented champion who can win games by making the right calls at the right times. Meanwhile, someone like Vayne or Yasuo have a lot of micro mechanics.
