Why the hell aren't dashes affected by slows?

Every time I go Nasus vs Riven Tryndamere Aatrox they pretty much go trolololol dash no kill wth and decide all the engages. It's basically 50% of the reason Ashe isn't popular due to the fact that gapclose gg while many champs who have a slow don't have a dash and vice versa. It could vastly increase the champions played. How many disengage interrupts are in this game anyway, 2? Thresh Orianna I mean honestly. You are in champ select, you look at a champion with damage, utility, and mobility.Nidalee Leblanc LeeSin Lissandra You look at another champ with damage and utility.LuxRumble Syndra Karthus why?

Why are you trying to engage as Nasus?

Do your job and farm for a half hour.

because: I hit 500 stacks at 20 mins.

as a tank (game time in seconds) / (your armor) = your life span(result in seconds). he has a better mid than late due to being blown up and escaped.

Splitpush properly, won't have that issue.

Either 1/softpush/4 or 1/3/1 splitpush, either way never show up out of the Fog without the rest of your team pressuring an objective first.

Daily reminder that Ashe is the reason Mobility Creep is a thing in the first place.

they can nerf ashe if that happens. and buff her elsewhere. why let 1 character get in way of improvement overall.

What if, instead of shortening the distance, the animation takes longer to complete by a percentage relative to the % slow. Basically gives the champ with mobility a little edge, while not completely invalidating a champs slow?

Just because a champ is slowed, doesn't necessarily mean their legs/wings/rockets/etc are any weaker, they'd just have less momentum, thus dash/jump slower.

The reason given before is that range changes mid fight lack clarity and readability. It would be akin to having an effect on many many abilities that lowered your abilities range. Poor poor Xerath/Lux/anyone. It would basically feel confusing and shit for the slowed person. Not good.

not sure but if you just play nasus support with ashe adc you don't have this problem

I think if you choose Nasus into those matchups, you deserve anything you get. Counters are a thing.

Ok, so, I dunno, choose better ones?

exactly nasus would counter riven if this was fixed.

Why does that have to happen? Just because you like a champion does not mean they should be able to do everything.

Riven has other counters, play them when facing her.

lol i never touch riven or nasus. they are toxic champs imo. i just wrote that to point out that the counters comment doesn't really apply just flip it around back at ya.

Riven will still be fine even if this happens. welcome change at least on the pbe. see what happens.

maybe buff a slow's duration if someone uses a dash ability while slowed. riven gets slowed she dashes. that dash practically made .5 second of that slow irrelevant. so for each dash a slow's duration could be extended by .5 seconds? in other words a slow will only be factored over ground covered while walking.

That is a very interesting and unique idea!

EDIT: Deleted my last post, cause this is cool.

The trickest thing with changing how slows affect dashes is that is literally going to change 5 years of balance and power budgets. Riot needs to have a SUPER light touch with it. I like the recent idea of veigars W and Ryze's W stop dashes/jumps in progress.

thanks mang means a lot. i posted it elsewhere but never gets noticed :(

I find that the #1 thing that counters slows are towers and team mates. even if ashe can slow you if your dashes help you get closer to team mates or tower and just postpone her chasing you just enough you'll be fine.

So someone without a dash wouldn't be able to get as far. dash champions are liklier to get to a safe area that ashe even though she knows her slows are applied longer. she wouldnt want to venture that far. Late game however when turrets are down then don't get caught. like you would vs say akali with rylais.

for example i cant stand playing udyr. even if i can eventually get to them it'll take me too much map to cover to get to them that by the time i do i'm in trouble/tower diving... so this would sorta of have the same effect. even though the slow is still on if they are behind their turret after they dashed they got the use out of their dashes. sure she'll be slowed under it though which nasus would be more likely to dive. but at least you could take him down with you there.

I don't think that is necessarily a good thing.

Oh look, another person who thinks that draft pick is the only way to play. Cool beans.

It's not the only way to play, but don't complain about counters in Blind pick. You should be more focused on team play and composition than the individual lanes at that point.

Because how will they get away if they can't run?

Cindikle1 votes

Because old coding.

And they really want to avoid messing with it otherwise they may break something. Like when they had smite show it's damage on top of the ability.

I'd like to see a cripple CC added to the game, which prevents blinks or dashes but not regular movement.

They actually are affected by slows. If you play mobility champs, you'll notice that when you dash when slowed, you do not go as fast as you normally would. This is also true with speed ups, when you dash with a speed boost, you will dash faster. It's not just that noticeable. Dashes are programmed as burst of movement speed to one area (as I've been told).

here is the problem. a lot of the newer ranged ad have mobility tools on top of slows. kallista is broken enough as is.

having dashes affected by slows would make them finally broken enough that you might aswell just go 5 ad carries, who are just peeling for each other.
