Is Darius supposed to be able to completely cancel his W auto animation with Q?

Just screwing around with him in practice tool and noticed if you cast W -> Q fast enough, you auto attack during his Q animation. You can even move with the Q and the auto attack damage always happens. Doesn't happen with any of his other abilities as far as I can tell.
