Let's face it, Essence Reaver needs to be changed. It never caught on.
The Bloodthirster
80 AD
20% Lifesteal
Passive: Shield
Function: Serves as a sustained damage item for Basic Attack-centric AD Carries (generally Infinity Edge users).
Current Essence Reaver
80 AD
10% Lifesteal
10% CDR
Passive: Mana Return
Function: Serves as a sustained damage item for Ability-centric AD Carries (generally Muramana users).
My issue with Essence Reaver is that it doesn't reward you for weaving in Auto-Attacks and Abilities, nor is it in any way rewarding in sustained fights. Not to mention that the 10% CDR was tacked onto the item post-release as something to try to entice players but it's still not more rewarding than the extra 10% Lifesteal you get from BT.
My Essence Reaver
80 AD
20% Lifesteal (Increased from 10%)
10% CDR (Removed)
Passive: After casting an Ability, your next Auto-Attack reduces the Cooldown of all non-Ultimate Abilities by 1 second and restores 4/6/8% of your missing mana (upgrades at level 11 and 16). (2 second cooldown)
NOTE: Obviously, the Passive would need to be tweaked. But the general gist of it is making you think about where your damage comes from - Abilities or Basic Attacks.
I've also seen a lot of comments recommending different build paths. To that, I say no. It quite literally needs to be BT but with a Ability-Focused Element rather than the Defensive Passive of BT.
instead.
Even for those that ER is supposed to be for.
because it upgrades to
, giving you a great power spike while also making your laning phase great. ER is a poor choice compared to MM because you get no mana sustain until you complete the item, making your laning phase harder, and all it really gives you is mana sustain.
and get to spam all day erry day (
)
and then my situational/defensive item. I run 10% CDR in my Runes and Masteries so I get 25% CDR, and 40% CDR if I get Black Cleaver as my situational item.
and
) place a much lower value on lifesteal for a vast portion of the game.
+
80 AD
15% CDR
15 arpen
Passive: 10% physical damage dealt is returned as health and mana.
and i think the champ who wud benefiet most would be
since he has a bit of a mana problem and there isnt really anything to compliment his q other than the tri-force, but this would fix that
or
GODLY lmao
