@Riot: What happened to the Shapeshift-Mechanic from BMB?
I think we all still remember the custom gamemode from the Bilgewater Event, the Black Market Brawl (or I think it was called like that, whatever, you know what I mean). The story behind that was that with the Bilgewater event the traders on the rift got access to some seriously rare (and mostly illegal) stuff from the Bilgewater market
The truth behind it was: Riot made a massive experimental testing session for all kinds of weird mechanics they could have come up with and some of that has found its way into the game already (such as a speed buff based on where you are on the map, originally a passive on a BMB item, now a mastery), as well as Deadman's Plate.
But there has also been a lot of other stuff: a phage for the mage, A ranged hard cc item for supports (a mini pull), Marytrs gambit, which has been the wet dream of all tank supports (and was introduced to the game has the bonds of stone mechanic if I remember that right), a unique line of support items based on murksphere (almost no stats, active: give ally a shield, get gold when the shield blocks something), just to name a few.
And my absolute favourite of it: Tricksters Glass.
Ability power: +60 Health: +400 Passive Unique – Eyes of Pain: +15 magic penetration Active Unique – Disguise: Teleports to the target allied champion (550 range) and takes on their appearance for 30 seconds. The disguise includes the target's current health, mana and emotes. The disguise is broken upon casting a spell or attacking, or upon your or the disguise's health being dropped to 0. 90 second cooldown.
That was one hell of an item.
You think you jump on the carry? NOPE, it was the tank. Or simply everyone walking around as a high priority target. It was extremly awesome.
So... are we going to see that awesome mechanic in the game anytime soon? Or is it reserved for a champion kit in the near future? Please tell me, I want this awesome mechanic in my games!
