PSA: Malzahar was initially reworked due to "non-interactivity".

Current malzahar has even LESS interactivity than pre-rework malzahar; the new changes further reduce his interactivity by making it EXTREMELY hard to stick to anything in order to get your non-voidling abilities off and do proper damage.

Can we just revert him? He was balanced then. And playable. We can keep the visual update, but the kit NEEDS to be reverted back to when he was ACTUALLY usable.

Malz was fine, they just need to revert 6.23 changes, or get him out of the support role

Thing is i think the rework was always intended to have malzahar take a "back seat" role in the game. Specifically lowering the damage on his E and giving his Q an interaction with it. A good ADC never misses a CS with malefic visions... I had a caitlyn a couple days ago who went the entire laning phase on a single malefic visions.

What makes malzahar a good support is the fact that he has very little lethality to his kit; hes like a predator without teeth. He can claw you and make you bleed, but its very hard for him alone to kill you unless he gets very far ahead. In order to push him out of the botlane you need to make him lethal again, which means dramatically increasing his base damage and returning his scaling to pre-rework.

Ive said this before and ill keep saying it; malzahar needs three changes.

  1. A complete reversion.
  2. A single empowered voidling to replace the W pool on a 30 second cooldown with no timer (its like 17 seconds at 40% CDR. Old malzahar would have two to three in 16 seconds.)
  3. A spellblade passive that replaces the voidlings passive and directs the voidlings when malefic visions or his ultimate isnt active.

Hell you could even make the voidlings a minigame by having enemies killed by malefic visions leave behind "void sacs" which hatch after 10/9/8/7/6 seconds, then have them become "empowered" after a voidling deals a certain amount of damage. Empowered voidlings would have no timer on them, and there would be a forced interaction involved in garnering them because malzahar would have to protect the vulnerable hatchling.

Lol, if by "balanced" you mean "constant 53% winrate".
