Just why..? Crit is already such a strong stat

Look at Master Yi. Look at Tryndamere. Look at Fiora.

All three of them are similar by design. Melee champions with much stronger offense scaling than defense scaling.

Take notice of the fact that Yi has two steroids; passive AD and active AS. Tryndamere has two steroids; passive AD and passive Crit Chance. Fiora has two steroids; passive AD and active AS. All three of them have rather powerful innate DPS multipliers built into their kits.

Yasuo has doubled Crit Chance, at the cost of the total damage dealt by his crits. No, it's not reduced Crit Damage, it's actually reduced total damage. This means his basic crits are 180%, and his IE crits are 225%. His Q crits are reduced 25%, meaning they deal 150% (187.5% with IE) instead.

Yasuo's steroid is the only one that also weakens its effectiveness to balance itself.

The reason he has the doubled Crit Chance is because it's his DPS steroid.

Too bad he's the only champion in the game who can have a 100% crit rate with only two items. You don't need to be dealing full crit damage when you're dealing guaranteed crits with every single hit.

THIS. The fact is, Yasuo concept isn't that bad as it looks. He is clearly a champ which damage is tied basically only to his passive + ulti, and is forced to go in with his mobility to do damage, which is really counterable by shields/CC/LS or SV/right positioning and by avoiding being knocked up (at least in 1vs1 situation on his third Q). The passive shield was created to give him a window to go in (when he could not ulti) without being completely deleted istantly, and the Windwall was though to give him utility + give him a chance vs poke/long range champs (es. Ziggs) that would have completely destroyed him

The core problem is that the double crit as steroid has a weakened effectiveness coming late game, BUT creates a situation where with 2 powerful and common items + runes he got guaranteed crits on every hit, which is a HUGE boost of power that has created the problems with him. As long as he wasn't horrbly behind, pre-nerf yasuo with 1/2 items could just get mor power than anyone else in the game, and he could keep that advantage for like 30+ minutes in the game, obviously if the game wouldn't have finished much faster than that upon him snowballing. The power curve Rioters thought for him went out of control, because players went smart and understood that that double crit didn't force/encourage diffrenet build like Rioters thought, but they could obtain the maximum effect possible upon 2 common and powerful items with whoch they sacrificed no stats to get to that 100% crit chance, and created a power curve that was unbearable to handle, with the result that Riot had to completely gut the rest of his kit making him thrash to keep him in check while keeping that stupid double crit chance passive

It would have been much better to give him increased damage on crit hits rather than double crit chance as steroid because it would have encouraged the yasuo players to go with different builds to maximize the impact of his passive, would have avoided that powerspike that still remains (and yasuo if does not fall behind still carries games ) and would have not forced to gut the rest of his kit to balance out the situation

The increased Crit chance gives him a mid-game boost in power, while the reduced Crit damage weakens his late-game quite noticeably. He actually only barely matches the DPS of Yi, Fiora or Tryndamere using the same 4-item build that gives Yasuo almost guaranteed Crits.

Remember, they did just nerf IE's Crit Chance, so Yasuo's usual Statikk+IE+Marks isn't 100%

Yasuo has a strong mid-game transition with the crits, but his later scaling falls off.

Tryndamere.

He's actually rather close to being outright weaker than other melee carries in terms of raw DPS even with the double crit chance.

Too bad it gives him so much power so early in the game that he can get fed and by dealing stupid amounts of damage before other melee carries have caught up he can get his teammates fed during teamfights.

Because melee carries need steroids to be of value

So he can have one or two defensive items and still outdamage adcs. Duh :^)

so he can go 0/7 in lane but get a statik shiv and still wreck faces like a 4/0/2 fizz.

So that he can further invalidate tanks.

I have a crit damage page to counter his debuffs but even then its not worth his crits. I can get better crit builds on better champions. They tryed to balance him but in the end they made him worthless when i can be level six slamming out 600 - 800 damage crits without IE on other champions

The 3 sec CD on Q has been a good buff to his early game though. I feel he is still rather weak statwise because he is not a fighter at all, his defenses and HP are less then what Zed has.

Zamiake1 votes

maybe buff the shield he gets and increase duration by a second

Stars Shaper1 votes

I think he needs MRxlvl scaling as any other melee, then a look at abse hp.

nah then that isnt help full. specially if the enemy is another assasin. thats a one way buff. shield buff would work agaisnt either
