Champs whose kits don't live up to their lore/expectations

Veigar Was the ultimate burst mage, then Riot came and took everything he loved and removed it from the game. He can't hit his W or E with any sort of reliability whatsoever, and his ult got a nerf. Plus, Rito went and removed DFG in the previous patch, hurting his overall burst. Veigar's core identity as a mid to late-game burst mage who blows up who he wants went down the drain. He became what? Some sort of anti-AP mage who did well if the enemy got ahead because of his anti-AP scaling? Sure, its unique, but that's not Veigar's MO. He blows things up... with magic. IMO, Veigar should have his W, E and Ult sightly altered to better grasp at his identity of "Average Sized Master of Evil" His E should cast and appear instantly; from the time cast until 0.75 seconds, the walls simply do not allow enemies to pass through them. They stop all movement except flashes/teleport skills. After 0.75 seconds, enemies who come into contact with the walls are stunned for X seconds. Enemies inside of the event horizon have no vision outside of the walls. His W, if cast inside of his E, should land in the direct center of it, automatically. When this happens, Dark Matter's AoE extends to cover the entire area of the event horizon, and enemies take damage depending on how close they are to the center of the AoE, from 100% at the center down to 40% at the edge of the ring. And his ult should lose its scaling off of the targets AP and instead have its AP ratio increased to 1.35 AP. This way, Veigar is better at bursting a wider variety of targets, but if his target is AP they don't feel bad for building a ton of AP.

Shen Tank/Ninja. AP ratios everywhere. Health ratios. Feels more like Samarai than a ninja, as he is a tank and dives straight into the enemy and protects his allies. I have no problems with Shen balance-wise, but thematically he just never added up.

Swain Legendary Strategist/General of Noxus. Entire gameplay? All about his bird and turning into giant demon bird. Meanwhile Azir is a birdman, entire gameplay about commanding his armies and having them do his work for him. Makes 0 sense.

Cassiopeia Ever since her rework, she has just been a mess. She is a snake lady. Snakes poison people; she should be about poison. Instead turn her DoT heavy kit into an E spam, give it enough juice to be powerful and call it a day. IMO, she should be about stacking her poison on targets. When she gets more poison stacks on people, her E's do more damage to them. All her ratio's buffed, her passive removed and her old one brought back, and her Q and W base damage increased. Her DoT damage now applies stacks of "poison" which increase Twin Fang damage by X%.

Aatrox Read his lore; he sounds like some sort of support/fighter hybrid. Helps his allies, etc. Nope. Make him a duelist with 0 base stats and a rebirth passive. His ult should be changed to something that makes him and his allies stronger the more of them are there, which would reward him for teamfighting. And find a way to buff his garbage base stats.

Elise Nerfed to non-existence, making her way back, but SOOO much could be done with her. Her human Q is boring, that DoT on PBE was much more interesting. human E boring. IMO, human Q should deal moderate DoT and apply "neurotoxin" for X seconds. If Elise uses spider Q on target afflicted by "neurotoxin" she deal X more damage and the target is slowed by X for Y seconds. Minions and monsters are feared for the duration instead. And her Human E would now be an ammo system, where she can place webs. Webs roots enemy champions when stepped on for 0.75 seconds. Webs attach to other nearby webs, creating strands. Enemy champs who cross a strand are slowed by X for Y seconds. Elise can target webs to move to with her Spider E, but will consume them. Boom, Elise is now an actual spider champion.

Warwick Gets the rework that ZenonTheStoic designed for him a while back https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/232dan/warwick_rework_teaser_e_boomerang_move_block_from/

Just some stuff I was thinking about

Well, to be honest, if Veigar lived up to his lore and his abilities, he'd be the strongest thing on the planet. I mean being able to summon a black hole, remake the Primordial burst, calling a massive amount of dark matter to fall from the sky should blow up the entire summoner's rift at least.

Also, don't really see how Aatrox is a support, he's more like slaughter everything.

Swain is justified, in his Joke (Or is it Taunt?) he specifically begins to formulate a plan, then he just disregards it and says ''Lets just morph and eat them.''.

This is in tune with his strategic background, while making it clear that he is just feeling like going the brute force route since thats all he actually needs.

Not really, his lore makes me think of Veigar being a pretty mediocre mage. Then you add that piece of lore where he got twarted by Teemo and how Tristana obviously sees him as a total joke, i was surprised when i found out how much damage he could actually do.

His cosmic magic is just not very strong. He can tap it and create dark matter, but to nowhere near it's full potential.

I think the shen analogy is pretty spot on, hes not very ninja like but thats okay since hes such an old champ.

To be fair, on Shen, he is stated to be a Protector, and even in the old times, there were ninja whose function was to serve as distraction. You also need to consider that Dodge was a thing when he was created, so he was a ''Dodge-Tank'' at the time, perfectly in tune with him being a Ninja.

Anyway, for me, it would have to be Alistar. Badass warrior that took on the Fleshing for years and survived. You would expect him to go Top Lane to duke it out with the likes of Mundo and Renekton, instead of being stuck headbutting women bot.

Thresh is another good example. Nothing about his lore screams ''Support'' to me, especially when you consider he apparently took on Lucian and Senna by himself and won.

Going by VU, half of Tristana's lines are about going in point-blank range and blowing stuff up.

I think the shen analogy is pretty spot on, hes not very ninja like but thats okay since hes such an old champ. Veigar actually delivers pretty well on his fantasy, you just kind of touched on his balance issues which are numerous but hopefully riot has some mini rework ideas to help him out. Swains abilities dont really have anything to do with his Lore, but Azir controlling soldiers makes perfect since based on his lore and his previous life.

I think Elise is actually very in line with her lore and what I would expect. I do agree that her q should probably poison and her spider form autos and such probably should too. Warwick is an old champ but latching onto your face and biting you and howling are pretty expected abilities. I would probably have given him regen instead of lifesteal since hes not a vampire but whatever.

Xerath

If you have any idea of what Xerath is. His spells should destroy the world, or atleast blow everything up. Instead of lasers, weak looking energy blasts, and an orb spell thing.

His spell effects should look like they could destroy everything on a whim. Kind of how his character design is.
