Which majority? The boards? K.

Meep Man8 votes

The boards is only about 15% (if even) of the game's population. Hardly vast majority. Majority of the boards is also only from player's with bad experiences because why feedback if you are having a good time, interrupting said good time?

CoolHandJack7 votes

While the boards is a minority of the overall player base, many if not most statistics are calculated this way. TV Ratings for example, anything you have ever heard or read about the habits of a population, and the thing is they are actually fairly accurate.

The highest posts have like 1k upvotes. That's not even close to 15%. It's more like 1%.

Not even 1%. About 0.01% I reckon and it could easily be less.

I know but there are some posts that have like 275k views which is quite a few people. So I'm not sure if upvotes is the right meter more like views.

The majority of players feed on a fairly regular basis. What's your point?

Source?

The same place "The majority of players don't like the snowball meta" came from.

BetaDude407 votes

While I'm not one to pull quotes and generalizations out of my ass (unless I'm being (trying to be) funny), you basically just said that the majority of players in this game suck.

Unless, of course, if you're saying that your comment came from nowhere along with the OP's, then you'd be saying that the majority of players don't feed (or, at th very least, you're unsure of it) because you just pulled it out of thin air.

...

Am I over-analyzing this?

Slamurai Jack34 votes

The majority of players in this game do suck. That's true of every game. You don't really realize just how bad the average player is at this game until you get way past average. I honestly can't stand to play with anyone below a plat level anymore unless I'm in voice chat with them and can talk them through everything because people Gold and below are basically clueless about the nuances of this game. I can't even play with people below gold altogether anymore because I can't even expect basic macro game knowledge or mechanical competency from them.

Low elo players make an absolutely absurd amount of mistakes every single game and it's understandable that they wouldn't like a snowball meta where such mistakes are more costly. And yes, the vast majority of low elo players feed on a fairly regular basis, typically in highly preventable circumstances. High elo players feed on occasion as well but you'll almost never just see someone go 0/5 in lane 1v1 at that level. Low elo? There's at least one of those people in nearly every game. And most of the time, they won't even understand why they got rekt or what things they did and didn't do that led up to getting rekt. Frankly, low elo players usually can't even tell the difference between good and bad play; for them, bad score = bad player and good score = good player.

Dude look at your match history and tell me you are not a feeder ... people playing faceroll champions and doing well are not good players in any aspect to me.

summoner 32 meta is pretty good and it works for every1 to understand that making mistakes in a laning phase can cost you the game.

I main sej, she is not in this dumb meta, and I win.

Ralanr4 votes

Same with Sion.

MasterSomething3 votes

Fucking finally someone said it. There is no snowball meta- Games to me have always felt the same. Just with more comebacks. Getting heavily fed makes you still win hard, getting a slight disadvantage but being able to make it up later still adds hope to victory, etc. Honestly, I don't see why people are complaining.

Slamurai Jack6 votes

The first patch of the preseason was pretty out of hand, mostly due to the fact that exp on kills and towers were both bugged in favor of the winning team. I very thoroughly enjoyed that patch, although I didn't have a single game ever reach 5 drags and even I thought the pace of the game was a little too fast. Now that those bugs were fixed, the game still retains that faster feel without being overbearing. Now you can win a teamfight at 35 minutes and end the game where you would have likely needed to wait 50 minutes to do the same last season. This has potential benefits for both winning and losing teams: WInning teams can make plays and put the game away sooner and losing teams can suddenly snatch victory out of nowhere with a big teamfight win post 30 minutes. Anyone who says comebacks are impossible this season are full of shit; I've had tons of games this preseason where we're ahead the entire game, lose 1 bad fight post 30 minutes, and then it's over. I've also won games in similar fashion. Comebacks are rarer than they were before because games are easier to finish but they're also easier to pull off when they do happen for the same reason.

People are losing lane and complaining about their enemies getting an advantage out of it. Nothing to see here guys.

KaisadiIIa3 votes

There is a difference between you dying once and the enemy building a long sword, or you building once and the enemy carrying 6 bloodthirsters, 3 trinities and a new legendary skin paid with your money when they get out of base.

I'm not giving any opinion here, but if someone want to argue about snowballing, you can't just say that because that's obvious and it's not the point of the discussion: they are not talking about if you should be punished for your mistakes, they are talking about how big that punishment should be.

Puppet33r2 votes

All the more reason to not go for this meta. I mean if you are a feedER then you deserve a loss sure. But I don't want to lose games just cause some dumbass thought it's a good time to all-in Irelia , give her 1 kill and then hug the turret(or feed) cause if he takes 1 step outside of turret range - he is dead. And you just lane there as an adc, unable to do anything to rectify that, and then get blown up by this fed irelia in teamfights, having no say in those teamfights.

It's really not snowbally. It's fast. Previously, a 30 minute match was a stompy one, but now that's just how quickly things get done. And, as per usual in preseasons, nobody knows what to do. They don't know how to effectively deal with a champ once they're ahead.

It is snowbally. The game may end at 30 min on the clock but it often is decided before that.

Slamurai Jack11 votes

That's how I felt like it was last season: We'd win in 15 minutes and then take another 20 minutes to actually end the game. This season, games that go past 35 minutes actually feel competitive for the majority of the game rather than effectively winning early on and then spending the next 20 minutes trying not to throw.

Come to bronze, where your team can through and the enemy team with zero kills can make a comeback #justbronzethings

Jefftiffy13 votes

I mean I hated snowballing before. I liked it when both teams could equally turn the game at any point where skill was the biggest factor. Because it made games interesting instead of just "Oh, we have some Bronze 5 noob who keeps tower diving a Poppy and fed her to the point where she just kills me and I can't fight back". Before at least I could fight back, maybe not that great, but you stood a chance as a team. Now a single person fed can end the game at almost 20 minutes.

shabingi1 votes

Having the first 35 minutes of the game become a waste of time because one person got caught sounds like fun. Why not just start the game at level 18 and 13k gold and not even play early/mid game?

I do, and that's all that matters

i fucking hate the snowball meta, i just want to oppress melee champions with no counterplay if i'm ranged who puts a free superdash on a 20 second cooldown god

fixed towers? fixed what? they don't do shit. people are turret diving before level 6 nowdays.

Apocyliptic2 votes

No, they aren't. I'm not sure what game you're playing, but you don't get dove unless you seriously misplayed somewhere.

No, they aren't. I'm not sure what game you're playing, but you don't get dove unless you seriously misplayed somewhere.

People get dove and killed all the time, even when winning their lanes. I don't know what game you're playing, but it's not league.

edit: Especially when playing safe. All you're doing is minding your own business, farming under tower, when the enemy laner(s) tower dive you.

Apocyliptic1 votes

That's called lack of warding, lack of map awareness (mia's), staying too long in lane knowing there's a possibility of a tower dive, and being behind your lane opponent, or only one kill ahead. People only get dove, like I said, if they misplay somewhere.

KaisadiIIa3 votes

That's called lack of warding

What the hell has warding to do with tower dives? You are talking about the capacity of an opponent to dive you at early levels. How they got there it's irrelevant, because you are not talking about how to avoid it.

Apocyliptic1 votes

If you get dove by the enemy jungler and you KNEW they were coming, you back to your tier two if you have to then B. It's not that hard of a concept to understand. Getting tower dove at early levels like you claims happens so little, and with even less success that it's irrelevant, and if the enemy takes the chance to tower dive you, you took a serious mistep somewhere, because it can't be done if you had even a decent amount of health.

AMYS GRAVE3 votes

We're talking about people being able to 1v1 towerdive without consequences, not getting ganked and 2v1 dove. The 1v1 towerdives happen all the damn time.

Crett15 votes

i've had my towers die after a single back multiple times

PDE5 Inhibitors5 votes

Only thing I hate about it is that you have to rely on your teammates not being business majors even more now. There is literally no stopping the 8-1 Yasuo at 6 mins. It's dumb.

KaisadiIIa3 votes

I think that's a good point: You shouldn't be able to easily comeback if the whole team is behind their enemies, and the 1-5 lux at min 10 shouldn't be able to comeback by herself. But the whole team should be able to stop a 8-1 Yasuo early game if they do properly. Right now, an enemy fed early game is really oppressive for your whole team even when they work together and, in soloQ, you shouldn't be punished that hard for someone else's mistakes.

We didn't like it in season 2 and 3 either and it was deemed an unhealthy gamestate then and deliberately moved away from.

Why we have completely undone all the improvements of the past 3 years is beyond me. Rito plz....

Yeah, I used to enjoy playing late game scaling hypercarries/stackers such as Veigar Vayne Nasus... But lately the only thing I can have fun with on is Riven who I used to loathe (and still do).

Fredart3 votes

If you're against snowballers then stop play aram.

Itadaki Seieki2 votes

Personally I like this "meta" you've created. Supports like Blitz, Ali and Bard are on the rise because they can roam and snowball THEIR lanes out of control.

SirHeavyScrotum13 votes

Yeah I'm not saying everyone dislikes it, but everyone I talk to irl about it says they hate it. It feels like you know for sure who's gonna win or lose in the first 10 minutes and there's nothing you can do about it and you can't surrender for 10 more minutes.

SpecterVonBaren2 votes

Stop playing Legend of the Poro King then.

God Went MIA2 votes

This is not league. League is supposed to be a team game, with chances to come back from behind with good teamwork and outplay potential. Thats how it was last season with 30-40 minute games, when a 20 minute surrender was rare. I'd say that 75% or more of my games are over before 30 minutes and the only thing that matters is what lane got the most fed, or which Yi got sated rageblade first. This is not the game that millions of people fell in love with. This is turning from a tactical strategy game to the childish style of Call of Duty.

^^^ QFT

The current state of the game is a waste of time and not fun unless you are the stompers but then when you are getting stomped it is even more NOT fun.

30-40m games with back and forth and ends with a key team fight or fight over dragon or back door is SOOOO MUCH better then who got FB
