I hate Master Yi

I seriously fucking hate him.

I hate that he can build 3 items and insta delete anything in the game.

I hate that you can't itemize against him.

I hate that his kit gives him so many bullshit ways to evade damage while his main source of damage is undodgeable.

I hate that the only answer to him is CC, which ISN'T A VALID ARGUMENT FOR WHY HE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED REMOTELY HEALTHY. Theres nothing to dodge from him, you can't outplay him, you can only outstat him (which usually only works in the early game or if youre playing an equally BS champ like tryndamere or jax) or try to CC him.

And yeah, I know he isn't supreme god-tier otherwise we'd see him a lot in competitive play. But I despise yi as a champion. Whoever thought he was a great idea should look back at how he's aged as a champion and reconsider his decisions.

As opposed to the design of mages where the only counter is "dodge the skillshot". Simple design that applies to all situations doesn't somehow make it bad.

Because getting CC'ed is literally the weakness of every champion, and then saying to 1 champion "just cc him" means he is bad designed as the champion has no other weakness.

Nono rightclicking from 600 range is highly skill intensive. Rightclicking from melee doesn|t need skill cuz being melee is a huge advantage unlike being ranged according to rito and this dumbfck community.

I mean......once yi gets rolling he has massive movespeed, a short CD gapcloser that makes him go untargetable&deals damage and he packs a ton of true damage.

He scales like a rocket and also has a pretty good early too.

Makes ranged look difficult at times.

There isn't a single ranged auto attacker that scales as hard as Yi. Most ranged auto autoattackers have healthier mechanics than yi that don't incluide stat checking their opponents to death.

Are you joking? Probably the easiest champion in the game.

-Do bad? Who cares you'll eventually hit the point of one button rotations.

-Someone going to CC you? I'll just go invulnerable and watch it pass through me.

Master Yii is just a mindless stat check hoping to one shot teams. If Yii didn't have so many get out of jail free cards when he fucks up, I'd say he's a hard champ. Currently, you can be caught out and still come out on top from stats alone.

A champions counterplay shouldn't be just stun him and hope you can burst him before he breaks free and one shots your entire team with one ability.

Having multiple ways to ignore tower damage just adds to the ignore any threat yolo champ. He's to safe of a pick for an assasin.

Actually......somehow with 3+ items on shyv i tend to wreck yi with pretty much 100% certainty O_O

The secret? Fat healthbar+damage+resistance means he takes too long to kill me while i kill him.

Its just nasty that his early game is somehow stronger........legit took like 350 true damage from one at lvl 5 or something.

Welcome to league of jungle. It is disgusting how yi can come to a solo lane lvl 2/3 and just 1v1 so many champs when early game used to be his weakpoint but haHAA red smite good game design takes no dmg anymore.

....Well my issue was the fact that the bugger was rolling conqueror and used his E.

As a result despite neither of us having lvls, items or help he just ate through my healthbar with true damage.

Later on when i had more damage&health it wasnt such an issue as i´d murder him before he got to use it properly but still, he is a damage carry with super scalings right? Doesnt feel quite right that he goes in and wrecks things early.

What do you mean? Yi is a complex character to play. You need to 'dodge' CC with him and if you're low on health you need to 'meditate'. How often do you see other characters use it? Only Yi does that and you need to time it for when opponents aren't around or you're in the bush. See, strategy! If you really want a braindead champion play Teemo or someone who needs to poison the opponent to get a kill then you'll realize how complex Yi is.

they should give him more meanenfull skill in 1 vs 1 right now he faceroll vs immobile 1 vs 1 champions without counter play since most of does champions dont have cc to stop him even hard counters for yi like jax or trynda can still be baited on the 1 vs 1 with q dodging run away a bit with ult etc so he can still win them, while yi vs immobile no cc champion you most accept death no other way around

I think the only reason he’s not in LCS is because counter jungling ruins him and LCS matches can function the same for 15 minutes if both jungles are afk farming

I'm not going to argue Yi is a skill intensive champion but for me he is one a very few champs I actually find enjoyable to play. Too many champs nowdays feel like a masochistic endeavor to just pick up and play without feeding your ass off, or are so utility centered that they are as boring to play as a piece of wood.

He has tons of counters, just not many popular ones, and since people are all busy picking popular ones he rarely gets hard counters. Look up guides on Yi and who he struggles against, the lists are longer than any other champs. At the same time, they're mostly champions others don't play because they're too busy playing Zed, Yasuo etc.

TBH it's kind of on you. It's not that you're forced to counterpick him, it's that of his like 30 counterpicks you wont play ANY of them between a 5 man team.

Yi is a pain for sure but their are ways to stop him.

1 work with your jungler and go for him early he doesnt have his Q constantly up to dodge your abilities and is very squishy. 2 just like he will hold his Q to dodge abilities hold your abilities for his Q if you can set up some nice damage on him 3 while he can dodge he is very 1 dimensional as he can only Q and auto to do damage timing is key to get the most damage on him so try to pre plan exactly how you can kill him and if you have the damage to do so in a very short time.
