But can we really make anivia great again? Her mana issues really turn me off. And please before you say something like "take mana band" Look at her kit for a second. Her auto attacks are very weak and ineffective to cs with. and the thing that really annoys me is her mana usage. IDC that her ult uses up mana as it should, but her abilities are really crippling her.

So maybe give her a passive like Nunu?

Why is this getting down-voted. ANIVIA is literally never played. My whole point is that she has mana issues and needs that solved. It's not fun playing a champ that runs out of mana after 3 abilities.

So what do I do about her mana issues?

It's mostly about practice and getting a good feel for her mana pool. For example to take advantage of Doran's Ring you don't want to burn an entire wave down with your ult. Throw it up long enough to get them low and maybe toss an E at the cannon then turn it off and last hit to finish the minions off. That way you save mana form ult and you're maximizing the benefit from Doran's.

If mana is holding you back over survivability then I would say get tear first, then catalyst then finish RoA. If you're judicious with managing how much you use your ult then tear and catalyst should be enough to ride you out through mid game.

I still think her mana costs can be toned down a bit.

Q: 80-120 W: 70 E: 50-90 R: 40 per second.

Her starting mana is like 396.

Buy dorans, ok cool.

starting ad is like 60

one q plus e at level 1=130 of that 396.

Now realistically you're forced to play passive.

3 q+e=390 of that 396. Now you're useless because her basic attacks are weak and if you're playing against a poke champ like Zed you're forced to back losing more cs and letting him take the lead in cs and kills maybe.

Zed is a nightmare against every mage right now. He's my personal permaban mid. The reasoning behind her high costs is the high utility and damage. Wall, Q, E is pretty much a guaranteed one-shot and Q is a pretty serious aoe stun.

She's a pretty high skill cap champ with the intention that you need to make every shot count since each shot has such a high impact.

When you play against an experienced Anivia player it feels like her mana isn't even a factor as they find the right moment and stick you with a wall and 100-0 you like you were just another CS.

Build a tear and RoA?

I've done that too, but even then it's still a pain.

Honestly if you still run out of mana THAT fast you're just keeping your ult out for the sake of keeping your ult out. You have to manage your mana, even if you have a lot of it. Don't just leave your ult out when it's not doing anything, use it for specific strategic situations. Don't just spam your Qs, use it when you know you're gonna hit something or have a good chance of it, etc.
