Ended Gold 2 Last Season, started 5 ranks down in Silver 3.
What an absolute garbage system. It took forever to even climb a little bit in gold and im literally 5 steps backwards from all the progress ive made. Thank you riot.

I love when salty players look at my op.gg and say "oh wow only gold with 130 games youre trash" and i go look at their op.gg and they are silver 2 with a negative win rate. I am gold 3 with a positive winrate. They dont realise how long it takes to climb sometimes especially once you hit gold.
Its called soft reset. You are even lucky if u started 5 ranks down. I started 7 ranks down and got my last season's rank (P4 )with 75%wr. If you are playing good you stomp the first 20 games and then you will get your rank so fast
